It's a fulfilling job to work with diversity (both in patients and coworkers). It can be fast-paced, interesting, and you see similar things presented differently being a Level 1 Trauma hospital. Certainly great for growing in the initial part of your career (working at Grady means you can handle tough days) and plenty of people stay for years at Grady because of how dynamic it is and how it pays just a bit more than its competitors.
Cons
Since you see everyone, you will see the good and bad. Patient safety is important, but staff safety is important as well. The frustrating thing about the place is that politics take over and things that are ultimately important (delivery of quality healthcare to patients, and caring about your employees well-being not just by lip service) are neglected. Workplace violence is a thing, and honestly healthcare providers should not have to accept being attacked by patients as a part of a job. Also, I remember trying to negotiate my salary, and the HR employee was certainly not having it that day.

It's easy to wake up and go to work when you realize how much the health system means to the people it serves. The saying Atlanta can't live without Grady is so true.

Academic hospital so you’re always learning, fast paced work environment
Cons
Poor leadership, no accountability, driven by productivity versus patient care. Rarely get raises. 3% each year instead of basing merit increases on individual evaluation.
