    Pros

Very good group of managers who are concerned with the employees learning more and growing. Good pay and good benefits. Great place to gain knowledge. They are involved in all forms of marketing so you learn a lot about how advertising channels work together.

    Cons

High expectations for performance. Sometimes the work can be overwhelming and requires attention to detail.

    Advice to Management

Expand the training program and create a peer modeling program

I worked at Gragg Advertising full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You would learn a lot at this job, but it does come at a high cost. It is very fast paced and you will not be bored.

    Cons

The high turn over here and complete chaos result in so much energy being spent in the wrong areas. It is extremely frustrating, draining and at times abusive. It is definitely not for everyone. You have to decide whether it is worth all of the negatives to stay at this company. For most people it is not worth it.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at the high turn over and learn from it. Don't try to spin it that this is normal, it isn't and the employees know it.

I worked at Gragg Advertising full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Gragg knows digital. If you are looking to get experience in the digital arena you will definitely learn a lot, very fast. - Compensation and benefits are adequate and you will work in a great area. - The line associates are smart, fun and great to work with.

    Cons

Employee turnover is alarming. The company will tell you this is common in the industry - it is not. In the 10 months I was there the average tenure of the client service team, excluding leadership, fluctuated between 7-9 months. This is disruptive to the client, training environment and overall morale. The executive team manages, they do not lead. Being unapproachable and intimidating while berating other... associates, entire departments as well as other members of the executive team are not traits of a true leader.

    Advice to Management

I would encourage management to make a conscious effort to develop and retain employees. Losing quality associates is a detriment to client relationships and your overall bottom line. Also, the executive team should invest in management training for all those in leadership roles. Being smart and knowing the business does not necessarily qualify someone to lead others.

I worked at Gragg Advertising full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The culture of the company provides opportunities to immerse yourself in the digital marketing sphere and really learn a lot. Management is flexible and understanding when it comes to life/work balance. The co-workers are intelligent and enjoyable to work with.

    Cons

Because it is a smaller company, it has a more casual feel to it. However, the size does limit promotion opportunities. Overall, you will get out of it what you put into it. If you work hard, are honest, and do your best, you can do very well at Gragg and gain some great experience and knowledge.

    Advice to Management

Many of your employees have advanced skills that are not being utilized. If an employee comes to you with a skill that can benefit the company, make the resources available for that employee to put those skills to work for you.

    Pros

Like many have already said the biggest "pro" about Gragg Adv is the great people doing the day-to-day work. There are smart and talented people there that I am still friends with today after my time at Gragg. I was able to learn a lot while there that put me in position to get out of there as soon as I could.

    Cons

There are a few managers and directors who are good in dealing with their teams and clients but sadly those are the ones that have little control over the agency. The executives that have all the power are the ones who will throw their employees under the bus to make themselves look good and are constantly telling lies to clients and employees just to cover their backsides. They will also mix business with pleasure... in a way that can be highly questionable at times and highly illegal at others (I was witness to illicit drug use while staying at a clients home instead of a hotel because of the wishes of my boss). If your OK with sleeping around with clients and your bosses to win business and get ahead then this is the place for you, otherwise run away from it as fast as you can.

    Advice to Management

Between HR and the number of managers who have fought this battle before I know Management is aware of all these issues and nothing has changed, if anything those who act recklessly are encouraged to continue to act the way they are by the support and rewards they are given.

I have been working at Gragg Advertising

    Pros

If you want to meet fun people you will have no problem here. Great place to network, because most people find new jobs within 2 years. Can accrue 2 weeks vacation starting out. You will learn a lot about how to defend yourself and how to manage difficult situations. Great place for extremely self-motivated people looking for a challenge. You will be challenged everyday. You will have responsibilities... outside of your title because it is a small company, broadening your experience.

    Cons

Management does not investigate problems in order to fix them. They immediately place blame usually making the situation worse. Management tends to yell, verbally berate and threaten to terminate employment if a problem arises. Interoffice conflict occurs daily due to over-worked individuals trying to meet deadlines and avoid blame. Because of high turnover processes are sometimes not known and impossible... to follow. Process is used as a way to place blame on a department, then individual, even though process is not taught. There is no training for an individual job. New employees are left with an employee manual and expected to be responsible for process without a clear understanding of their responsibilities. No matter what position you have you will need to train someone around you in order to complete a task. Communication between departments is muddy.

    Advice to Management

Focus on respecting individuals under your authority. Do not abuse your authority. Make a conscience effort to recognize motivated, hardworking, competent individuals and give them more incentive to work for you. Most people love the feeling of a job well done.

    I worked at Gragg Advertising

    Pros

You learn a lot about yourself and your work style You learn to deal with many different situations, which allow you to handle the many curve balls thrown your way The employees are awesome, many people have developed lifetime friendships They sometimes randomly give early dismissal just because Quarterly outing that includes a holiday party... work hard, play hard Never a dull moment They give raises Good PTO

    Cons

Very little praise, plenty of criticism Turn over rate is very high Lots of gossip... if you don't want the whole company to know something about you then keep your personal life personal If it isn't perfect, you aren't working hard enough The unofficial motto of Gragg is "Throw your co-workers under the bus in order to save your own a**" It is not uncommon to hear yelling and cussing coming from the other side... of management's office doors You better be wiling to work at 55 hours a week, including working at home at night and on weekends Employees are required to check email once a day on their days off Process and procedures are always changing

    Advice to Management

Appreciate the employees you have, especially the ones who stick around. One of the highest complaints that comes from employees is the turnover rate and it IS big deal When someone does a good job, tell them Stop yelling, you can get the same message across in a calm voice and you'll get a better reaction from your employees Just because it wasn't your idea, doesn't mean it's not a good one Do 360 reviews... if... we can handle criticism so can you

    Pros

You're surrounded by good people You will learn a lot If you have ideas you can get them implemented (if the ideas are GOOD) or at least listened to Except for a handful of whiners the staff is great Benefits are pretty good for a small company Free parking

    Cons

You will work very hard If you don't produce results you won't last. This should probably be on the Pro list Dingy old building

    Advice to Management

Find the whiners and weed them out Expand the client list
