I worked at Graham Capital Management full-time

    Pros

The colleagues were one of my favorite parts of working at Graham. Most people I worked with were very smart, hard working, and willing to teach you new things.

    Cons

A bit of a commute if you aren't nearby.

    -great location
    -opportunity to advance and learn
-firm is generally interested in your well being
-excellent cafeteria-partly subsidized by the firm
    -2 soup choices daily!

    Cons

-not really a con, but just note you need to be assertive about what your goals are and the firm will then work with you to achieve them

I worked at Graham Capital Management full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Overall, I had a wonderful experience working at GCM. I was hired in 2004, while the firm was relatively small. From the beginning, I was given the opportunity to take on as much responsibility as I could handle. I went on to run the Treasury Ops team and had tremendous access to senior management and worked closely with the Risk Committee to implement our cash management strategy. In 2011, I became part of the Investor Relations team at GCM. It was a great experience working with so many dedicated and intelligent people. The work was challenging and offered even more exposure to senior management. The senior management team at GCM is very demanding, but fair. During my time there I saw many recent college graduates join the Ops/Middle Office groups and get the opportunity to go work on the Trading Desk, Risk, and even work for the Portfolio Managers. GCM is the kind of place that if you work hard and want to learn, they will give you the opportunity.

    Cons

I lived in NYC for the majority of the time that I worked at GCM. Getting to Rowayton, CT was a bit of a pain.

I worked at Graham Capital Management full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Overall I enjoyed my time and had a positive experience working at Graham. Graham's positive attributes include its people (executives, managers and colleagues alike), long track record and experience in the alternatives space, thought leadership, quaint location, amenities (café, gym, etc), and environment. I had a very positive experience with my managers all the way to the top who all offered guidance, encouragement, and constructive feedback during my career at Graham.

    Cons

While in a beautiful location, Graham headquarters can feel a bit isolated as there is not much to walk to other than beaches, the Rowayton library, and a longer walk (15 minutes) into the little town of Rowayton.

I have been working at Graham Capital Management full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Gym is great, food is ok. Pretty flexible on getting my work done. Not a high pressure environment like other hedge funds I have worked at. Projects are kind of interesting and I get a lot of independence on them.

    Cons

Location, upper management doesn't communicate what's going on with the firm, if you aren't a trader, you aren't anything, comp is average at best. Wish I didn't have to work on so many different things at once. Managers in my group seem pretty set in their jobs so no career growth possible.

    Advice to Management

Talk to someone other than traders once in a while.

    Pros

Kind, smart and thoughtful people. No jerks at the firm. Plenty of room for upward mobility. They care about their employees. Great facilities including gym, cafeteria. Can work out of offices in London, Connecticut, Palm Beach. Business diversified across 2 businesses, each with multiple strategies.

    Cons

Tough commute from NYC. Few resources shared across all PMs.

    Advice to Management

More events to bring different parts of firm together.

I worked at Graham Capital Management full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice offices. They never once told me how/what to trade, and ramped up capital very quickly

    Cons

Payouts are low and then they will cheat you on your percentages because of some reason you never knew about. They are very disingenuous when it comes to paying. The drawdown limits are fantasy, they are never respected - you will always be fired before getting anywhere close to the stated limits. They hire are lot of mediocre traders that don't leave because they have nowhere else to work; and then they fire them. Working at Graham damaged my career despite some good 'Pros'

    Advice to Management

    Be more honest
