I have been working at Grail Research full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - The pay for recent graduates is better than the industry average
    - There is good exposure to various types of industries and clients
    - Analysis and output quality is well maintained and so instills a habit of doing clean work in all team members

    Cons

    - Absolutely no work-life balance
    - Some of the projects are so personal assistant-like that it doesn't seem like we're working for a research firm

    Advice to Management

Please be more considerate during the scoping of the projects
Please keep the colleagues capabilities in mind while staffing for a project

I worked at Grail Research full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

None that I can think of. I am writing here because I need to fill the 20 minimum word as the Pros field

    Cons

Quality of projects is poor, management is clueless about the direction of the company, absolutely no work life balance (in my 1 year stint here my average working hours were 65/week), bad HR policies, rampant nepotism. List is long. Bottom line is: Avoid this company

    Advice to Management

The company deserves better given what it was until half a decade ago

I worked at Grail Research full-time

    Pros

Barring mondays, you usually don't get a lot of traffic to reach this place
(That's all I can think of)

    Cons

    Here goes my list:-

    1. Quality of work -
They literally take any kind of work just to keep the money coming. Most projects are sub-standard and will make you question why you joined the company in the first place.

My advice: Tier 1 guys - avoid this place, you don't belong here.

    2. Unprofessional culture : This is a major issue here
-A certain set of 'Lalas' think they own the place. If they decide that they don't like you, they'll make your life miserable.
     - Favouritism: I have seen so many resignations of talented and deserving people because they weren't rewarded appropriately for their work due to this.

Also, certain managers have absolutely no sense of professionalism and use any kind of language.
Worst part? Nobody does anything about it.

    3. No work-life balance
Well they have improved the situation a little bit, but there's a long way to go.

    Advice to Management

If you could just improve on the (mostly)unnecessary long stretches and office culture(politics), the unusually high attrition rate would come down

I have been working at Grail Research (More than a year)

    Pros

    - It's a small set-up so the level of exposure you get is more as compared to a big firm
    - Some projects are really good and requires a consultants approach in many cases

    Cons

    - The company is going through a phase where they are trying to standardize everything. All these changes bring chaos and confusion (For example: Constantly changing Review Process and timelines, Performance Pay). This also effects an individuals growth timeline
    - At times you will feel like the management is completely biased and your growth in the company depends on them, not on your performance
    - The most funny part is self appraisal, which is a joke and is never taken into consideration during your performance evaluation (One of the HR confirmed the same very bluntly to me)

    Advice to Management

They need to get their head straight around two things
    - A biased approach in evaluating employees based on internal office politics and personal favorites is not going to help the company in a longer run. They wont be able to retain good and hard working employees this way (I have personally seen so many resignation because of the above reason)
    - Stop lying and giving false reasons behind reduction in increments. If you can't give the expected hike at least be honest about it. That's the least you can do

    Pros

Quality of work; quality of people; at par salary; newish office filled with art pieces... It is difficult to find 20 words of pros (minimum requirement to submit review)

    Cons

Zero focus on people. Micro management by Integreon management has been the worst thing to have happened to grail. It has totally lost its way and all the old timers who were running the show have left the firm. Those remaining have been looking out...

    Advice to Management

    Care for your people.
