Don't work here at this university unless you're desparate.

    Business Outlook

    Pros

    Ability to work from home.

    Cons

Way too many hours needed for the pay. Students are rude. Students are not prepared for the courses, yet they expect As. Students plagiarize and the university's process to report them is time consuming and stressful.

GCU continually assesses outcome data to determine whether our students graduate with the knowledge, competencies and skills that are necessary to success in the workplace. We are disappointed that GCU was not able meet your expectations as an employer.

    Terrible support from faculty development

    Pros

Faculty development and the university put out a good amount of training. You can accept as many or as few courses to teach as you want.

    Cons

When faculty development puts out mandatory training, there's almost always some issue or another. And, whenever you have an issue, and you email or call faculty development, it goes in a big black hole. Never ever received a response to the dozens of emails and calls made.

    Shameful Pay

    May 11, 2019 - Adjunct Faculty

    Business Outlook

    Pros

They have some unique degree programs.

    Cons

The pay is shamelessly low for online faculty based upon their degrees and experience. Many of the technical degree programs are paying the instructors less than minimum wage. It's a shame that student pay over $2000 a class yet instructors are paid on average $100/per student. GCU wants involved instructors but doesn't want to pay for that involvement..find a new university to attend.
