Not worth working here

Training Program and helpful co-workers
Cons
Too many company meetings. Terrible bonus program and very little help from Management.

Pros
Amazing teammates and a very helpful training program. Good resources for continuing education in sales training
Cons
Higher corporate management is very hostile. Owner threw his wallet at sales staff during contract presentation on multiple occasions. Houses are so over priced, they almost never meet appraisal. Even at base features.

Top-notch training
Oct 25, 2022 - Sales Associate in Addison, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The training program is topg program is topg program is top-notch. I thought I would be overwhelmed by the amount of information I’d need to take in when I got started, but they broke it down in a way that made it digestible and even fun. As someone who’s experienced the flipside where I was thrown into a sales job with minimal training or knowledge of the product whatsoever, I appreciate the fact that they took the time to set up such an amazing program, and I can also attribute my success with this company to the thorough preparation. All in all, it’s a good place to work and I definitely recommend it.
Cons
At the end of the day, preparation and support can only get you so far when it comes to sales. It’s challenging, but the payoff is worth it.

Be prepared to come in and sell hard..... Looking for Wolves, No Sheep

They set you up to succeed, they rest is up to you. They offer a month training programprogramprogram with 2-3 months base salary and an additional training program every quarter. The model homes in the community are there to wow the customers, your job is to do the rest. Its great pay if you can establish sales in your first two-three weeks, if your only sale comes in your second month watch out your starting to sink and probably will not last. They promote from within after a long while.
Cons
Office gossip, don't fall prey to the "he said/she said" or the "you have to watch your back with this one"...... keep focus on your job. If you leave or your fired the commissions you have on the books will not be given to you. The managers ride you like a horse if your not making sales, also they have their favorites already. Be prepared for the managers to talk down to you as well, have to have thick skin. Private home builder, so they don't have enough skin in the game to build out your communities.... be prepared to sell the "one of a kind dream home". You will loose sells to the bigger competition drees, ashtonwoods, beazer, toll brothers because they have homes completed and on the ground ready for move in.

Grand Homes - Dallas, Texas

Great floor plans and designs. Good training program by sales managers if you are new to the industry. Support for sales from all departments is very good. The problem is managers have no authority to approve contracts, change orders, sales concessions, etc. due to micro-management by the owner. Even at the Division VP level any and everything must be approved by Mr. Brooks or his son if it costs money.
Cons
Serious micro-management problem. Very slow to get homes started. Some deals taking over 9 months from contract to just applying for the building permit. Then another 8-10 months to build. Way overpriced. Company wants very high margins which is good for the owner but not the commissioned sales personnel.
