    Working with bright young students is the best!

    Too much bureaucracy.

    Cut the fat in the administration layers - too many high paid administrators adding very little value to the university's mission.

    Parking in Allendale for both faculty and students.

    Great place to work! T Haas as a gem, and they are very supportive towards their employees.

    Cons

    It's a fast growing university, so sometimes people figure out policies etc as they grow.

    Great retirement accounts, access to 403 and/or 457 (401 equivalents) with strong contribution by GVSU, and broad range of overall benfits

    Cons

    So many various services and benefits it takes a little work to navigate through them

    Love every second there. Upper level management is helpful. If you need a day off you get it.

    Pros

    The people are genuine, professional, and accommodating. I have almost worked here for two years, and throughout my time I have had a wonderful experience. Grand Valley is a fantastic university to work for!
