    - Great people.
    - Supportive management.

    Cons

    - Disorganized.
    - Suggestions were met with a lot of roadblocks.
    - Unfair commission structures.
    - Little opportunity for growth.
    - Outsourced staff aren't help accountable.

    I have been working at Grand & Toy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Fantastic people. Great customers. Strong working relationships. Dedication to improvement and high performance.

    Cons

    Salary is not competitive with other companies in the same market. Commission needs to be higher and there should be more incentives for high performance.

    Advice to Management

    Streamline your processes. Account set up is cumbersome and complicated. Have a more integrated training program.

    Pros

    Great team dynamic, allowed you to have the opportunity go grow a lage book of business.

    Cons

    At times the work became repetitive and colleague were mostly localized in Ottawa.

    Create a more pleasant work dynamic, better ambiance.

    nice people to work with

    Cons

    way too much admin work for a sales role. 5 systems to use, no CRM, no integration and a lot of manual input

    No future. Management is trying so hard to keep the business from going down the drain...it will soon just give it time

    Please note, I left this company is 2006 - Canadian Company, used to be the go to company for office supplies, long term employees

    Cons

    Retail, worked with high margins, did not respond well or quickly enough to competitors entering the market (i.e. Staples).

    Advice to Management

    Retain intellectual property and knowledgeable staff

    Pros

    Have a strong move forward plan which when executed will improve sales. Digital growth is strong and will continue to improve and drive business forward.

    Cons

    Uncertainty of final decision on proposed acquisition by Staples. Like most retail organizations challenged for growth through market disruptions caused by Amazon.

    Continue with current move forward plan and digital growth to improve sales, build upon current success within business development and continue utilizing sustainability as a differentiator

    Company objectives were not fully in line with the support provided in certain areas

    If you are going to adopt a program make sure its fully supported and very competitive if new market entry is involved.
