    I worked at Grand & Toy full-time

    Pros

Nothing good to mention at all.

    Cons

Slave drivers. Incompetent and abusive managers. Forced me to do 16 hours of work in 8 hours. Antiquated technology.

    Advice to Management

You are going to go bankrupt. I suggest you all go look for work.

I worked at Grand & Toy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people managing at the Regional Sales Level.

    Cons

Company is dying due to past management's bad decision making. They have gone from $800MM to under $500MM in only a few years while shedding in excess of 1500 people from a 2600 person company.

    Advice to Management

Continually laying off sales people in the hopes that you will grow the business isn't really a good strategy.

    Pros

There were really no pros. Only place I ever worked (at the corporate office) that we were discouraged from learning new trends in the industry

    Cons

Horrible work life balance, horrible atmosphere, discouraged from learning more about the digital industry trends, hours not flexible at all, horrible managers who are very condescending, managers have lack of knowledge about the digital space they are managing, stuffy dresscode, old school ways of thinking and running an office

    Advice to Management

Encourage learning and research, loosen up hours, bring in management that actually understand the digital space.

I worked at Grand & Toy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Co-workers. That was the only pro of working for the company, the people I met.

    Cons

Leadership (or rather lack thereof), no room for growth, anyone under management treated like subhumans, directions given out with little to no explanation of how to execute. I could go on and on, but basically the whole company is a cesspool now.

    Advice to Management

Don't lie to the public, treat your employees equally, pay them a decent wage and for god's sake LISTEN to your employees.

I worked at Grand & Toy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They offer higher roles to people who aren't as qualified but just to get experience.

    Cons

no direction, no bonus, no salary raises, very political and lots of snake biting.

    Advice to Management

Make a plan to stick to it.

  7. "Struggling company - very challenging place to work"

    Pros

They have a lot of good people and a strong infrastructure. Organization has a lot of unrealized potential and could regain a lot of their market position witht the right management.

    Cons

Extremely political environment. Layoffs have gutted the "working staff" but have left management completely intact. There is literally no one left to do the work and those who remain are at the end of the rope. The prevailing sense is that management feels everyone is replacable and if you are not happy with the conditions they would be more than happy to find someone better to replace you.

    Advice to Management

Managers are great but they don't do the work of the business. If you work your staff to death they will continue to leave along with your only hope of regaining the companies strength.

    Cons

    no apprecition for great work.

    Advice to Management

make a plan and go forward not keep changing things. it confuses staff and customers.
