    Pros

Grandview has an innovative and child centered mission that teaches to the whole child, identifies the exact learning style of each child and uses multiple, collaborative approaches to ensure each student succeeds using the appropriate instructional techniques. The curriculum is accelerated and there is great emphasis on the needs of gifted students and how to challenge them in ways that bring out their strengths and keep them engaged and progressing at their highest potential. Having such a small population allows each teacher to fully understand the needs of each student and personalize the instruction, modifying skills and checking for understanding frequently. It is a truly child-centered institution that prepares the students for higher learning.

    Cons

Being such a small school does limit what is available to the teachers in terms of resources. In the five years I was employed at Grandview, I did encounter frustration with limited supplies, electrical equipment for the classroom and technology availability.

Grandview is a wonderful place to work

    Pros

I am extremely happy working st Grandview. The administration actually cares about my well being, I'm allowed to structure my classes in a way that is entertaining and educational and my children are getting a phenomenal education. The other teachers are well educated and great at their jobs.

    Cons

I really can't think of any downsides to working here. The salary could use a little improvement. Please make sure that ideas that are discussed are actually implemented.

    Pros

Administration cares about employees well-being and helps make the school a really positive place to work. Beautiful campus, wide variety of extracurriculars, programs and clubs for students. Small size.

    Cons

Staff sometimes has to wear too many hats.

    Awful Place

    Pros

Some of the peer teachers are nice to work with but most are looking for other jobs.

    Cons

Worked here for a year and just found the school bankrupt of all ethics. Favorites are played with staff and students. Lots of backstabbing by administrators to teachers. Gossip is rampant and administrators are very catty. Can't believe much they say. Their pay is low and they think they are very shrewd in paying low wages. Large percentage of teachers have their kids there so lots of favoritism. High High turnover.

    Pros

The community at large is tight-knit and very caring. Most of the employees enjoy their job and work hard.

    Cons

The administration is too large and filled with very under-qualified people. Their is a lack of transparency with the staff as well as with the community the school serves. A very dysfunctional Board of Trustees with a lot of turnover is controlled by a person whose background and associations are very questionable.

    Pros

Laid back environment is nice, lunches are good

    Cons

Year to year the philosophy seems to change and teachers are expected to go with the flow. Too many classes with limited prep time. Not sure of which administrator is in charge as flow chart directs everyone to Head of School.
