I have been working at Grant Thornton full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

There is flexibility in schedule with an emphasis on culture and work life balance. The clients are the right size and complexity to provide the right challenges to a growing and experienced professional

    Cons

At the stage of Senior Manager there does not appear to be a clear path or transparency on projected path to partner. There is uncertainty on whether you will be partner or if you are being exited from the firm.

    Advice to Management

Greater transparency on performance status and plans for the future. Actually engage in the process and come to the collective right answer and then communicate that message out, frequently.

I have been working at Grant Thornton full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Excellent flexibility at work - New FTO policy is just amazing - Leadership involvement and focus for firm and individual growth is excellent - See clear investment in people and technology to make the firm bigger and better - Amazing, positive and continuous focus on culture

    Cons

No big cons, however, salaries could be better; definitely more to spread around and decision making could be faster at times

    Advice to Management

Excellent, tangible leadership focus - keep the great work going. However, GT needs to move out of the 'mid-tier' market approach and take on bigger clients from the Big 4.

    I worked at Grant Thornton

    Pros

Flexible work hours Smart co workers Team players Technical and Leadership Training Career Development Work Hard - Play Hard vibe

    Cons

At the end of the day, whatever you do will never be enough, you could've always done more of something. That gets to be a more difficult pill to swallow after spending several years there. Due to the levels/project team structure, there's always someone right there and available to replace you. It can be difficult to feel valued for being the individual that you are vs. the role/spot you fill on the team. Trying...
