I worked at Grant Thornton full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    1. Open door policy 2. Some of the seniors are very supportive of junior staff and have the capability to be a good mentor. 3. Events throughout the year (parties, sports fest, etc.)

    Cons

    1. The partners involved in management are of Auditing and assurance specially the ones looking after the HR related work, they don't understand the student perspective of CA life. No leaves are given to students beyond 1st attempt. 2. There is no overtime pay. you do get compensatory offs of extra hours you have put in but most of the partners don't allow us to fill in the time sheets with the actual amount of hours...

I have been working at Grant Thornton full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Appear very friendly at first , this is an illusion be warned !! Apologies for this statement , however I speak from experience from GT processes and from the truth.

On interview with client They did Not offer a representative from GT related Function to be invited on the interview,! When complained about the un fair treatment their response was : we don’t...

Shallow management, Chennai branch is a monopoly not a partnership. One selfish person runs the show. Lick your superior shoes; you will become Assistant manager with just B.Com qualification. Over a period of time you will forget that you r a qualified CA and you will start feeling theft you r slave to one selfish guy.

I have been working at Grant Thornton full-time for more than a year

    Pros

If you have nothing else then this option could be considered. Get a work visa and buy time to look for something else.

    Cons

There are many, but I will try to keep it short. - They do not have any professional ethics and integrity. They don't think twice about breaking laws in the country to get their business done. - They have absolutely no business strategy in mind for the future. They talk about big things but they have no resources and have no idea about how to do it. - They have no standards when it comes to salaries and employee benefits....

For God's sake please work with some professional integrity. Get some talented people as your managers and not just people who cant only talk. Take a look at how other companies work and be honest about your position and look to genuinely improve rather than fooling yourself. Build a healthy environment and develop of culture that helps in doing good work rather than just playing politics in office. Make it work like...
