I have been working at Grease Monkey International full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The automotive service industry is not going away. Job security is not an issue with Grease Monkey.

    Cons

There are slow times of the year which hurt business and can possibly reduce the hours employees work within pay periods.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your customers. Listen to your employees. You are all a big part of a three-way business team.

I worked at Grease Monkey International full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Learning new things. Different positions to work so you get to learn different things in the garage area as well as in the office area with customers.

    Cons

The management sucks. Was there for almost 6 years and wouldn't get raises like I was promised. They always found excuses on why we didn't get them.

    Advice to Management

Should talk to the owners about who should do what in the buildings.

I have been working at Grease Monkey International full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    You get days off.
    It's a job that pays.

    Cons

Okay, there are a lot of things wrong with this place. You are "Promised" a raise after your 90 days. I've been with them for over 6 months, still haven't gotten a raise. Corporate keeps making excuses to not give them. You get paid MINIMUM to do a LOT of work, and you don't get breaks, only get a 30 minute lunch. So expect to work 10+ hours a day and get a 30 minute lunch. This company is a massive joke. IGNORE THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS

    Advice to Management

    LISTEN TO YOUR EMPLOYEES!

I worked at Grease Monkey International part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Awesome immediate supervisor (Location Manager).
    Stable hours, good work/life balance.

    Cons

Wage does not match the technical work being performed.
    No training to speak of.
Absolutely no breaks unless there are no cars; only one 30 minute lunch break on a 9 hour workday.
Classified part time (no benefits) but worked full time (in 2011; they can't do that anymore, thankfully)
You, your clothes, your pillow, and your car will smell like oil.

    Advice to Management

Pay a hood/pit technician who is performing mechanical services and flushes like someone who's performing mechanical services and flushes. If people knew you only paid the "mechanic" working on your car only $8.50 an hour, they would think twice before bringing their cars in.
