    Pros

Freedom with hair color, free haircuts, can have peircings, can have tattoos, the dress code is OK, closed on Christmas and Thanksgiving, regular paycheck

I worked at Great Clips (More than a year)

    Pros

With the right manager and team, it can feel like family and home.

    Cons

No health benefits. Unrealistic expectations of speed on haircuts while pushing products deter good stylists from staying with the company.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees well if they are hard workers.

I have been working at Great Clips part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone's super friendly and helpful, my boss really went out of her way to get me hired and helped me a lot to get more comfortable in the salon and how the salon does everything.

    Cons

I don't think there are any cons that I can think of. Everything's pretty simple and easy going. It's fast paced and the system is user friendly.

I have been working at Great Clips part-time

    Pros

    team atmosphere
    decent training
    warm fuzzies galore

    Cons

The pay is insulting - there really is no other way to put it.

    Advice to Management

The corporate higher ups act like it is some big mystery why we can't seem to ever fully staff our stores. Here's why: I could make $.50/more per hour at Burger King (despite their claim of competitive wages, and this is even after a raise). I made the same hourly in the mid- 90s for a competitor chain. Pay is not based on years of experience or technical skill. I use my paycheck as a means to fund my savings account, but if I had to actually pay bills with it, there is no way I would work for this franchise. So why would I stay? It is because of the stellar personality of the manager - no kidding. The clientele is just what I am looking for and it is a mile from my house. The mystery of stylist hiring difficulties is now solved. :)
