Pros
You meet some nice people
Cons
I have personally worked here as a hygiene assistant. The dentist will lie on you, listen in on private conversations and never take accountability for her wrong doings. She miss diagnosed several patients when her numbers are low and wants you to be on board with taking advantage of people especially the older ones. She does not have a conversation with you as an adult and will tell people(higher ups) every little thing you do the she considers “wrong”. She does not care about anyone who can’t do her work for her while she sit in her office on the phone or searching for clothes on the computer. She does not come to work on time and have patients waiting for her for a hour or more. Her assistant has medical conditions and she runs him down to get her numbers. Simple procedures take 2 or more hours and she can’t perform any unless her assistant is there. Most of the patients that come do not want to see her they prefer her assistant. Anyone who has worked with her don’t like her and the temps hardly come back because of her. The rest of the staff is amazing and will give you the warmest welcome. The higher ups don’t not care about you even though they try to talk about “family”. The moment you stand on not becoming a slave and only doing the task you where brought there to do it becomes a problem. The moment you want your hard work to show in your pay check it’s a problem. They will communicate with the Dentist and not you then terminate you without even getting your side. If you would like to work in an office where the dentist communicates, worry about the patients and oneself more than others and has the best interests in their staff this is not for you.

Pros
I couldn't ask for a better group of people to work with on a day to day basis. Do we have it all together, no, but what company does? Are there people striving to make a difference every day, yes absolutely! I love the fact that even though we are 300+ office strong, we somehow continue to have that family owned feeling. It's pretty easy to do my job when the company I represent is something I believe in. I couldn't recruit for them if I didn't. Some may think this is a con but I don't; we are just picky about who we add to our awesome GEDC family lol! Our interview process is a little lengthy 2-3 interviews before we give our final seal of approval!
Cons
Like I said, do we have it all together, no, but we realize that and are always working to make improvements. 1. We could improve on effective communication between departments. 2. We don't have 401k company matching, otherwise our benefits are pretty good. 3. There is definitely growth within the company but the path to said growth isn't crystal clear. 4. retention is always on a companies radar - increase the amount of recognition for those doing a great job. It could be in person, via company communication, our website, etc.
