    Pros

They are all about sales and if you are willing to put in the work they will compensate.

    Cons

They move you around a lot. I was there for a year and half and during that time they changed the title of my position 3 times and moved me 2 times.

I worked at Great Western Bancorp full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

PTO.....but you can't take it all and it doesn't carry over.

    Cons

Management is allowed to bully their employees with no repercussions. No room for growth in most markets. They lose long term employees because they treat them awful. Everyone is graded on a curve so if you have an off year you could be out the door due to the curve. Bonus system is hard to figure out. Overall they just don't care about their employees. Now that I work for a bank with an employee friendly culture I realize how disfunction this place is. I still have nightmares about management. I can't stressed enough how awful they are.

    Advice to Management

Quit allowing your management from the top down to bully and harass employees. One of these days someone will sue you.

I worked at Great Western Bancorp part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible Hours and they worked with my school schedule.

    Cons

They weren't quite handling the transition from privately held to public company as well as expected.

    Advice to Management

Policies and Procedures should be consistent across branches. People on the line should be involved in creating new practices.

I worked at Great Western Bancorp full-time

    Pros

    - Other employees are usually great to work with!
    - Advancement potential is there!

    Cons

    - a small standard of procedures, most branches follow what they have always done in the past.
    - Training is BVS, Quarterly. It's a trail by fire type of learning experience. For me it was positive though.

I worked at Great Western Bancorp full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Most employees and low/mid-level managers are good people and try to do the right thing, reasonable benefits package, and many internal job opportunities.

    Cons

Understaffed, salaries are marginally adequate, performance reviews graded on a curve, executive management will only do the right thing when they have to (i.e., audit/regulatory pressure), and risk management programs (with exception of credit risk) are not mature.

    Advice to Management

Efficiency ratio is not an accurate assessment of operational efficiency and presents a significant business risk. Treat your people better and the turnover ratio will decrease.

  11. "Manager"

    Pros

Positive work environment. Management that actually cares. Room to move up

    Cons

Nothing really. Just perhaps more communication

    Advice to Management

Know your employees and you likely have some great ones in place to promote
