I worked at Great Wolf Lodge part-time

    Pros

This was a super fun job, and they provide the best training of all the retail jobs I've worked. I felt very comfortable doing my job by the time they had me working alone. The management was fun to work with and were there for me when I needed them.

    Cons

I guess when it was super busy it was kind of annoying, because the shop was so small, but it wasn't too bad.

Absolutely terrible hours with no support from leadership

Hire from the outside. The current leadership has no idea what they’re doing and it’s deiving employees away.

I have been working at Great Wolf Lodge full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Honestly, nothing really. The cons will drown out the pros

    Cons

I would NOT recommend a 2 year old to work here! Management treats you like animals and just wants to work you without getting a thanks for helping out and busting your back and doing extra just to help the team out. The pay is CRAPPY! There are chances to get incentives, BUT they expect you to rely on that and they will not give you a raise. This job is physically, emotionally, and psychologically DRAINING! PLEASE DO NOT DO IT! TRY TO FIND SOMETHING ELSE IS YOU CAN!

Where to begin on my experience at GWL... I had so much happen while I was working there.

One supervisor always has a smart mouth attitude and treats everyone like crap.

I’m a type one diabetic and I gave them a 504 which is accommodations for someone with a disability they never took a look at it and I had low blood sugar all the time to where I had to ask someone to cover for me just so I can bring it back up.

I had an incident where one of my family members passed away unexpectedly and I didn’t know until before I went in for my shift. I asked the manager at the time if I can be with my family that day and her words were “No if you don’t work now you will get fired.”

I’m 5’10 and they had me do glitter tattoos all the time I couldn’t sit down because they said it was “unprofessional” the whole day I had to bend over and do the tattoos to the point where my back was hurting by the end of my shift. It would hurt so bad I would have to call out the next day.

    Advice to Management

    Treat everyone fairly.
Don’t hide in the office constantly
Don’t favorite your employees treat them all with respect.

I have been working at Great Wolf Lodge part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most of the other lifeguards are nice and easy going

    Cons

The guest can be very rude
The park is nasty and grimmey
    Most of the time understaffed
Managers and supervisors favorite some guards
    No FLEXIBILITY at all
    Very hot and humid
If you don’t like kids this job isn’t for you
Ridiculous in service hours (7-9am) (9-11pm)
    Other guards are lazy
    Lots of drama

    Advice to Management

Not many people stay working here for too long because management sucks
