I have been working at Great Wolf Resorts part-time

    Pros

I've been with GLW for almost 6 months and it's a great part-time job and the employee perks are fantastic

    Cons

Sometime the communication isn't the greatest in regards to changes but the team I work for is very good at letting each other know.

I worked at Great Wolf Resorts (More than a year)

    Pros

As time passes, I'm only increasingly more amazed at all the things Great Wolf did right. Their whole lifeguarding system really is top-notch. I've been a lifeguard in various places and had to redo training when I let certs expire. No one pays as much attention to getting it right as possible. Whereas others won't call you out if you jump in for a spinal injury, at Great Wolf Fitchburg, you best not be jumping when you could make waves that make the injury worse!

In-service was always a riot--having to make a caterpillar backboard rescue just 'cause! They do a great job caring and and making sure no one falls through the cracks.

    Cons

Same as any lifeguarding job: a little monotonous.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing.

I worked at Great Wolf Resorts part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

flexible scheduling provides unique opportunities for employees to work when they need to. This is the one attribute that stayed consistent throughout my employment.

    Cons

Inconsistent work environment is the direct result of puddle hoping managers that use there positions to "reform" the work place and move up the corporate ladder.

    Advice to Management

Improve salaries for middle managers so that they can consistently work an environment and not feel the need to fight there way up. Overall this creates a bad environment for lower level employees.

I have been working at Great Wolf Resorts full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - The friendships you make are GREAT! Lifelong friends.
    - Above minimum wage pay is desirable
    - Waterpark passes for free

    Cons

    - We can't keep a staff. We bring foreign employees over multiple times a year because they can't keep American workers.
    - Foreign employees get away with breaking rules, while American employees don't (ex. They won't drug test them, even when there is evidence of drug use. This is a danger to guests, as well as to themselves.) I guess it's too much of a hassle to deport them. They're so desperate for employees that they won't.
    - Getting any vacation is a hassle. You can't even take a three day trip off.
    - Management doesn't listen to suggestions, yet don't understand why they constantly need employees
    - Supervisors and managers play favorites

    Advice to Management

Listen to your loyal employees! If someone has worked for you for 4 years, maybe they have some insight on how Aquatics can be bettered. But just maybe.
