    Pros

    Nice people and good benefits. Offices were comfortable. Field locations were easy to work with and executive staff were laid back.

    Cons

    They were working on a merger while I was there. People were being laid off due to the merger so the working environment was tense at times.

    Advice to Management

    They really need to understand who does what before making a reduction in regard to the existing staff due to the merger.

    Pros

    Kept me moving always. Alway really nice and concerned about what driver needed and how they could to help to make things go smoother day to dsy.

    Cons

    Weekend dispatch never knew what week dispatch had setup for the truck

    Advice to Management

    Keep all of dispatch on the same page.

    Pros

    -18 repair facilities around the country.
    - Greatwide was experienced refrigeration company that absorbed several small trucking companies. saved jobs and customer relationships.

    Cons

    1. Merged with Cardinal and totally abandoned refrigerated business
    2. Cardinal cut all Greatwide personnel. Failed to integrate Greatwide personnel into new company hence they lost several accounts.
    3. When original President let the company new management could not figure out how to make a profit.

    Pros

    Great company, people and environment.

    Cons

    Repetitious. Little pay for so much work. Move on as soon as you can. Not idea for career. High school like when it comes to gossip and rumors.

    Advice to Management

    Turnover would not be as bad if employees got paid a little better especially, when asked to do extra hours.

    Pros

    Plenty of freight, fuel surcharge combined with low on-site fuel cost. Excellent accessory pay for stops, back hauls and starting trip pay. Detailed trip reports and great settlement reporting for weekly payments.

    Cons

    Management / Dispatchers overwhelmed and will forget you if you are not diligent with keeping up with them and ensuring you can pull loads on the days you want to work. Must work at least one weekend day every week.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to driver preferences and note successful work habits, better planning and route management would help ensure 100% coverage with fewer fall-offs.
