    Pros

I really enjoyed working for Greeley and Hansen. I was very fortunate to work for such a motivated team. We had meetings with catered snacks, company outings, contests, etc. I appreciated the company’s benefits, such as summer hours and especially retirement plan benefits (401K, Company Profit Sharing and pension plan).

    Cons

Sometimes, have to work after-hours due to workload or project's due date.

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at Greeley and Hansen full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great office culture with concern for employee welfare and work/life balance. Excellent people to work with every day. Exciting projects for big clients with a small company feel. Room for growth for anyone willing to work for it with lots of potential for success. Support for working parents. Excellent benefits - pension plan, etc. Visionary leadership with a great plan for the future.

    Cons

The company has a lot of great ideas and initiatives that improve how we work, however communication to all staff can be improved.

    Advice to Management

Keep employees informed of the many initiatives both implemented and planned that improve how we work. This should be done through multiple pathways, as everyone has a different way of absorbing information.

I have been working at Greeley and Hansen full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Opportunity for exposure to all facets of engineering consulting (project delivery, BD, client management) early on in one's career- but need to speak up regarding interest.
    - Never felt like a cog in the system while at this firm; individual attention provided; observed the impacts of a formal annual performance review and goal setting, allowing folks to identify their strengths and leverage them.
    - Willingness to support (financially) innovative business line development

    Cons

    - Recent retirement of number of senior engineers and principals left gaps in specific niche technical areas
    - Management teams revert to old behaviors when not reminded of commitment to change

    Advice to Management

    - Increase transparency of decisionmaking processes - Just share more with all levels -even the ones that dont need to know
    - Continue to empower employees, seek out the geographies where this is not yet the case and force change
    - Communally celebrate individual achievements on behalf of the firm.

    Pros

There is tons of free time. The deadlines for things are generally twice as long as you need to get them done. The offices are for the most part nice to work in. Greeley and Hansen generally overcharges clients so there is plenty of money to be made.

    Cons

There is very little room for advancement. It is a very flat structure (entry level -> associate ->principal) which means that you will have to work with the company for many years in order to move up. There is also a very large age discrepancy. Half of the company is over 40 while the other half is under 30. While everybody is amicable, the younger people do not have much in common with the older people and therefore do not interact very much. The modeling software needed for most projects is not available. Rather than spend some money to get the software, the company generally chooses to contract out the work losing more money than doing it in house.

    Advice to Management

The senior management needs to be more involved in the other employees. The senior management is rarely seen on a day to day basis.
