Pay is poor, and while the isolation builds community, it is still isolating. You'll learn to cook and make your own fun. All the regular annoyances of a small academic community are present, but nothing outside the norm.

all departments proceed interviews for all applicants. However, I recommend applicants try to contact to employers earlier before the interviews.
It depends on the department where you will work for. The only downside of their work-study jobs is the minimum wage. When I was there, they only paid lower than $9.
Advice to Management
Perhaps they need to increase wage rates or having some benefits for student employees/ Most of time, we finished jobs in the end of semester, and sometimes we have to work over time. Yet they donot allow you to put more than 10 hrs per week.

Positive environment, friendly people, engaging atmosphere and the area is beautiful. Overall very nice place to work. You get to know everyone very quickly.
