    Pros

The employees work very hard towards a common goal. The cross departmental cooperation is a big plus. I traveled some, and when I had to go to a visit for quality purposes, I was joined by a team member from another department (ie: Design Engineering or Process Engineering) in order to satisfy our customer.

    Cons

Upper management is not too high on TPM, a Japanese initiative to problem solving as a team. It sounds contradictory to my comments above, but I felt they needed to be part of a team as well. It just wasn't the way TPM is run.

    Advice to Management

Upper management should join a TPM team and get more involved in this process. Also loosen the purse strings a little to allow these teams to accomplish their goals.

I worked at Green Tokai part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You show up, do you work and they pay you. That's pretty much as good as it gets.

    Cons

They will fire you in the first 90 days if you miss, even if you're in a wreck. So don't wreck.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to you workers.

I worked at Green Tokai full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good enough pay, typically make about $34-40k a year depending on the amount of overtime put in, lot's of chances for overtime.

    Cons

Not ran very well overall, doesn't plan well for future growth or possible downsizing. Despite pay being decent for area, a lot more is expected of you over the average job in this area.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of or shuffle all the management and replace it with component people.

    Advice to Management

    Eliminate good ol boys network

I worked at Green Tokai full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits were decent. Compensation was acceptable. Longevity was an average of 15+ years and turnover was minimal. This was likely due to decent compensation and benefits.

    Cons

Upper management was very disrespectful and unethical in their practices. Human Resource Department had many shady practices and they were very unprofessional. Women are never expected to make top-level within this company due to the Japanese Culture. It was common to have doors shut in my face or was often interrupted in conversation by the Japanese associates.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees with respect. Re-evaluate the professionalism standards, especially with those in HR.

    Pros

Benefits are decent and they have tuition reimbursement

    Cons

Employees are treated horribly. No respect for managers by employees and no respect for employees by managers. Human Resources department is a joke. You really have no chance at being promoted and the jobs that used to be available for promotion got pay cuts.

Really is an all around crappy place to work.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees at human beings instead of another number. Manager your workers fairly. Promote those who deserve recognition and fire those who are worthless drunks and those who have no desire to work or put a fair amount of energy into the position they hold.
