I have been working at Greenhorne & O'Mara as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very open and amiable working environment. Coworkers are friendly and management is very accessible. Technologically sound with many resources available. Pay is fair for interns. Work-life balance is great.

    Cons

Interns are sometimes assigned menial tasks. There is no training program or training period. Everything must be learned on the job.

    Advice to Management

Have a more structured internship program and establish a training period for interns to learn the ropes

Company was consolidated due to acquisition

    Advice to Management

Stop letting engineers manage the company. Hire real managers.

    Pros

Multi-Discipline firm with a history in Maryland.

    Cons

The bottom line dominated the management of the company. Employees represent a number ($) and not as a person contributing to the greater good. Very "corporate".

    Advice to Management

Get back to the roots of the company where the individual people made the difference in the business community - not the bottom line.
