I have been working at Greenleaf Hospitality Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Decent pay (they recently increased minimum pay to$10 an hour)
    - Full benefits
    - Flexible Schedules
    - Great atmosphere
    - Free lunch (Hot food up to 5 days a week. Sometimes the hotel is too busy and the kitchen doesn't have time to prep us big meals as well as the guests in the hotel)
    - If you want to move to another position they do what they can to work with you

    Cons

    - Benefits are expensive. A few dollars a pay period from my last job with same benefits
    - Lots of miscommunication (at least in housekeeping)
    - High turn over rates (again, in housekeeping, probably because of the amount of work)
    - Strict dress code ( no visible tattoos, no unnatural hair coloring, unless you are in uniform (housekeeping, restaurants, kitchen) you dress business casual

    Advice to Management

Get better communication. Maybe every leader carry around a small notebook and when something noteworthy comes up they write it down, so they can let the other know.

I have been working at Greenleaf Hospitality Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I have worked in multiple departments for GHG and have been partnered with all of the managers throughout the company. This group of people care about the employees, guests and community surrounding them. We are constantly striving to be the best possible hospitality company. It is a fast paced environment that accommodates new ideas to solve old problems.

    Cons

I can't come up with a con to working for GHG, I have always felt like I had a voice and support through my time working here.

I worked at Greenleaf Hospitality Group full-time

    Pros

Greenleaf really feels like a family. Everyone seems to care about one another and each department, especially the front office is very tight-knit.

    Cons

    Long hours
    No weekends off
It is very much customer service based so be prepared to deal with characters every now and then
Long stretches of boredom and then being completely overwhelmed
The schedule makes it impossible to have a personal life

    Advice to Management

Rotating schedules so employees can have at least one day (F, Sat, or Sun) off every other week
    Be proactive about under-staffing issues
Higher pay for non tipped empoyees

    Pros

Good team and talent, the property has going through major renovations and internal departments work well together.

    Cons

Technology department was going through a restructuring, wish I had more insight before accepting the position.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Wonderful benefits. You have a lot of rope to make your own decisions.

    Cons

You must drink the Kool-Aid. Forget about experience and knowledge, you gotta buy into what they are selling. If you don't SEE YA! Keep a lot of dead weight around just because they are likable.
Honest and Honorable is a Core Value, yet executive team members don't adhere.

    Advice to Management

Stop promoting people because you like them. It also wouldn't hurt to admit you are wrong on some things.

I have been working at Greenleaf Hospitality Group part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Every employee is empowered to solve client problems.
GHG values are great in theory.
Wages are reasonable, especially compared to other hospitality companies in the area.
Hours are decent and it seems like there's a shift for any availability.

    Cons

Management is notoriously disorganized. Miscommunication or no communication is a regular thing. Scheduling is last-minute more often than not.
Sometimes it seems like turnover is high, but people just move around throughout the organization.
The company is not as invested in employees as they are led to believe in training. Kinda sad because many college students work here.

    Advice to Management

    Try to retain talent.
There are great employee rewards programs in place, but it seems like they're unknown and therefore seldom utilized.
    Where is HR?

I have been working at Greenleaf Hospitality Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It is a very tight knit , family like, family oriented environment. They use you to the best of your talents and work on developing them. It's very fun, positive, laid back, with well controlled chaos during our busy times. I love it and every single person I work with.

    Cons

They are very slow to give pay raises. I have been with the company for several years and have learned many things, yet my salary reflects only a $0.50/hour increase. I think that is my only complaint. They treat everyone fairly with the utmost respect. A great company to work for.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management is to continue with the verbal praise and recognition. It really does go a long way. I think more frequent/regularly scheduled pay raises would keep all of our employees happier and further motivated.
