I worked at Greenville Health System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Many jobs and areas to learn about healthcare. After a year you can transfer internally to another position or be promoted.

    Cons

Often short staffed, a lot of overtime, large system loses personal connection, quality is less due to high volume, parking

    Advice to Management

    Have fun at work

I have been working at Greenville Health System full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good team to work with, willing to share equal work load and cover during PTO off request.

    Cons

Need to hire more staff to handle all shifts, instead being made feel an obligation to do so.

    Advice to Management

Hire the adequate staff to handle workload for shifts.

I have been working at Greenville Health System part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Greenville is a great place to live. They are always expanding, food offerings are tasty. You can transfer within the system after a minimum of a year in your hiring position.

    Cons

PRN pay is less than other places. If you get hurt on the job, the safety net is very short lived. Minimal pay for charge nurse duties. It can feel like a cold and uncaring corporation.

    Advice to Management

Make PRN pay competitive for the area.

I worked at Greenville Health System as an intern

    Pros

GHS has a great atmosphere. In my time there, I was exposed to wonderful leadership and everyone I met was willing to lend a helping hand as needed. They care about their patients and their employees alike.

    Cons

The organization is a little siloed - as is any health care organization right now. I do think improvements are occurring to change this dynamic.

    Advice to Management

Keep your leadership team strong and continue investing in your interns. I'd love to come back someday after the treatment I received at GHS.

    Cons

Come into the 21st century and hire people who are qualified not someone's friend. Do more digging when it comes to management positions.

I have been working at Greenville Health System part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Many locations in the state. Easy to transfer locations. Average pay. They offer good benefits. A growing company. Not for profit.

    Cons

Average pay. Difficult to move up the ranks. Lots of drama throughout the hospital regarding poor management and understaffed departments.

    Advice to Management

Follow through. Follow up. Take action. Provide the tools needed for employees to complete their jobs effectively. Too much red tape.
