I worked at Greystone Healthcare Management full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Decent pay, and work hours

    Cons

They don't want to give pay raises in a timely fashion. I actually had to fight for mine and threaten them. They expect the impossible from you regarding patient care, when you have incompetent nurses and patients that are too ill to be there. You are pressured to not send patients to the hospital so they can increase their profit. There is a high turnover of arnps because they have a boss that just talks a lot of crap and does nothing to help you; her only interest is making herself look good to upper level management. The facilities are dangerous places for patients r/t poor care

    Advice to Management

Assist arnps with problems instead of blowing them off

I worked at Greystone Healthcare Management full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Gave a nice lunch for nurses week

    Cons

Management does not care about their staff ,,pay is ok as a nurse ,beneftis are average, however the cna's pay was awful

    Advice to Management

If you take care of your employees by showing appreciation and not leaving staff to work another 8 hr shift because no one on call is mandated to come in and work to relieve over worked nurses maybe the turn out rate would not be so high.

I worked at Greystone Healthcare Management full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Clean, fairly new facility. Caring & fair director who is loyal to her nursing staff. Most CNA's provide excellent care despite the ridiculously high work load. A few very good nurses that really care about the members.

    Cons

Low salary, high turnover of CNA's & nurses. When census is down, nurses & CNA's report to duty only to be sent home. They do this so that they still have you if someone does not show up or calls out late. This is not fair as they pay for the gas & childcare to go to work only to be sent home with little or no pay. A few nurses are degrading & rude to other nurses & CNA's, especially new ones, some even yell at them, Pt load too high for nurses to provide adequate care for the members. Mostly only have time to give medications & document on what should be done.

    Advice to Management

Call staff at least 1 hour prior to start of shift to cancel or don't cancel & allow staff to use the time to catch up on education in the training room, answer phones, etc. When it costs a person to go to work & not get paid chances are they will find another job that they can rely on. Stop allowing the bullying! There are some strong personalities that chase off new nurses & CNA's then they complain there is not enough help.
