    Pros

I thoroughly enjoyed working at the Grill. I was a full time student and a part time employee and management worked not only with, but around my schedule as well. While you're there, the work is tough, but that is only because of the nature of the restaurant. The shifts usually fly by and the back house cooks are some of the best in the business. I would recommend this job to any student who is willing to put in the time and effort, it is definitely worth the work.

    Cons

    You have to work holidays

    Advice to Management

You killed it, thank you for the experience.

    Pros

The work environment is very professional. The boss, the head staff, and everybody that works there are very great and polite people. Even on slow nights it can be fun because of the people who work there.

Also, there are celebrities who come every once in a while so that's a plus. If you're lucky, you might even be able to serve them. I've run into Bruno Mars, Macklemoore, 49ers, Harrison Ford, etc

    Cons

There are some very rude customers because it is a fine dining restaurant and everybody expects the best out of you. The customers can also be very demanding. There are some strict rules for the staff because everything has to be perfect since the regulars at this restaurant are treated like royalty.

    Advice to Management

Maybe try and talk to as many customers as you can more often because sometimes they might see you visiting certain tables and may feel as if they're being ignored. And to smile more

I worked at Grill On The Alley part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great Money. VERY easy work. Almost make you feel like a robot at times.

    Cons

YOU FEEL LIKE A ROBOT, but serving just isn't for me so have at it.

Also! you are "on call" meaning you call in everyday around 2 pm to see if you are working that day and at what time, very hard to schedule fun time without knowing if you work.

    Advice to Management

    Doing a great job.

    Pros

busy shifts, staff is pleasant to be around

    Cons

overstaffed, disconnected management, favoritism to certain staff led to some people feeling less important than others.

    Advice to Management

give the staff a reason to be happy at work. cutting hours to eliminate our health insurance, shutting down suggestions without giving the ideas a chance to catch on doesnt make anyone feel valued.

I have been working at Grill On The Alley part-time

    Pros

Per person check average is high, around $80+. Large opportunity to make money. Extensive wine list that can increase per check average substantially. Coworkers are friendly and management team caters to tight schedules and is fair when dealing issues.

    Cons

Pretty slow during the summer months. Little opportunity for advancement other than into management. Not really a career job unless you have another job in conjunction.

    Advice to Management

Stay doing what you are doing. Keep being understanding. Have more wine training for new hires and have a crash course in fine dining etiquette for new hires as well. They finish training and find themselves picking up the pieces.

    Pros

the male bartenders and the more experienced servers make working their a learning experience.

    Cons

the training from the home office and the lies about the reduction in hours is ridiculous... the majority of the 'GUESTS' that g their are rude and the tourist treat you like a servant.

    Advice to Management

Take the employees side for once and add gratuity to the check and treat your employees with respect and stop ling.
