    I have been working at Grimshaw-Architects full-time

    Pros

Grimshaw's commitment to it's people shows from the added work perks (breakfast on Mondays and tasty snacks throughout the week) to the opportunities for continuing education. There are opportunities to learn from guest speakers and from each other on a weekly basis so you're always learning something new. Aside from company culture, the company is growing and there is the opportunity to take on different roles within the project. You'll never feel stagnant at Grimshaw because leadership is constantly reevaluating your strengths and preferences to create well rounded teams. If you come in and work hard, Grimshaw makes the effort to invest in you.

    Cons

When deadlines get near there are some long days, but that is generally industry standard.

I have been working at Grimshaw-Architects full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Well-maintained facilities, nice kitchen and bathrooms

    Cons

Terrible place for a young female architect- taken for granted, career advancement based on elbow-rubbing with the right senior partners, frat-bro culture, plenty of upper level male management preying on young female employees...

Upper management sell the idea of a "privilege" to work there to compensate for low pay, and other career abuses, despite being irrelevant on the design scene for a while now

    Advice to Management

Advice to potential female architects- take your talents elsewhere!

I have been working at Grimshaw-Architects full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A lot of talented staff to work with. Quality work, quality buildings and details. Majority of leadership is accessible, which allows for more opportunities if you go for them.

    Cons

Understaffed departments leads to high rates of burnout. Your career and dedication is only worth it if you happen to fall under the right manager and projects. Recent changes created a negative environment.

    Advice to Management

Used to be a great place to work. What happened?

I have been working at Grimshaw-Architects full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Grimshaw's work environment is excellent. There's even green wall inside the office, so every one gets fresh air constantly which is very important during winter time.

Staffs are great, they are willing to share their knowledge to others. You get to learn marketing, BIM and construction technology, sustainability from many experienced architects.

People come from all over the world, and many staffs work in office for more than 5~15 years. They are both experienced and highly professional.

    Cons

The office location is far away from most subway lines (except 7 train, however 7 train always has problem...)
