I have been working at Grimshaw-Architects full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Grimshaw's work environment is excellent. There's even green wall inside the office, so every one gets fresh air constantly which is very important during winter time.

Staffs are great, they are willing to share their knowledge to others. You get to learn marketing, BIM and construction technology, sustainability from many experienced architects.

People come from all over the world, and many staffs work in office for more than 5~15 years. They are both experienced and highly professional.

    Cons

The office location is far away from most subway lines (except 7 train, however 7 train always has problem...)

    Pros

Good Organisation and team structure. Interesting projects and many opportunities to learn the multiple facets of the profession. Good work culture and atmosphere

    Cons

Large scale projects can take too long to complete for an individual to gain valuable experience at a reasonable rate.

    Advice to Management

The needs Individual staff members may get lost in larger strategic aspirations of the company. More concentration and care should be taken with staff members

I have been working at Grimshaw-Architects full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

awesome work-life balance, challenging projects with diverse portfolio, skillful and talented employees, broad range of in-house resources available

    Cons

top heavy - too many seniors
low salary (among architecture offices it's in a mid-high range, so not too bad)

    Pros

broad scope of work. friendly people. global offices and opportunities to work abroad. competent and friendly partners (also relatively young).

    Cons

same cons that are prevalent in the architectural field in general. the new office still needs alot of work....not to mention the commute to even get to work (along with west side highway). could do with more social activities. salary reviews and progression needs to be implemented better, and/or conveyed more clearly.

    I worked at Grimshaw-Architects full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Generally a modern, bright and fair working environment. Supportive of Part 3 studies. Lots of office social events on offer.

    Cons

Depends hugely on which team you land in as to whether your time and effort will be valued. Some teams will value the project more than the team member which will be demeaning and possibly abuse overtime hours without reward.
