I worked at Grossinger Autoplex full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Training was solid, fun making a sale, you can build up repeat biz quickly, Superbowl Saturdays were a blast. Porters and back end staff kept things light.

    Cons

Surprisingly a lot of downtime during 10 hour shifts M-F., high petcentage of deals pre negotiated on line offering no commision on sale, vets got all the juicy deals. Money wise couldn't hang on longer, just not enough.

I worked at Grossinger Autoplex full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Ability to make close to six figures with no education or formal training

    Cons

Huge shop, tough to find co workers.

    No retirement accounts

    Advice to Management

Upper management seems to not care at all about customers or employees. Division went through multiple managers in the short time that I was there.

I have been working at Grossinger Autoplex full-time

    Pros

    Tons of room for growth
    Good potential to earn

    Cons

    Lack of respect from anyone
    Terrible schedule
    Constant stress

    Advice to Management

It's ok to tell your people they're doing ok. It usually motivates them more than yelling at them

I worked at Grossinger Autoplex full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are no pros. Gary Grossinger is a money pinching millionaire that wants hard work but doesn't want to pay his employees.

    Cons

Work long hours. Never appreciate your hard work. Wants change but doesn't have the patience to let it take effect. Rides u on little things but doesn't do his do diligent in making sure things are right before going off. Revolving door place.

    Advice to Management

Don't go into management u will be fired before u can make a positive impact. Leave your hard working people alone and fight for them and not against them. Pay your people what they earn.

I have been working at Grossinger Autoplex full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Started there as a sales person 3 years ago, and when up to a sales manager and then business manager. Just work hard and company will pay you back!

    Cons

Takes lot of time, but at the end it worth it...

I worked at Grossinger Autoplex full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Really almost none to speak of. There are some good people there to work with and some of the clients are great. Oh, and the money was fantastic, but even then this job wasn't worth it.

    Cons

This dealership is part of a group that operates unethically and even unlawfully at times. I've personally witnessed the service department steal parts from one customer car to try to repair another. I've also personally experienced unlawful employee "chargebacks" and was terminated for not authorizing them. It amazes me that this dealership is even still in business and hasn't had their franchises pulled. They don't have most of the tools required by the brands in service, and their advisors are not brand-specific, as required by most brands today. Bottom line, you don't want to work for this company at this or any of their other locations. It's just not worth the hassle.

    Advice to Management

Find other employment. There is no way to fix this dealer group without changing the dealer principle.

    Pros

Energetic, fast-paced environment, enjoy the level of autonomy I have throughout the day.

    Cons

Bare minimum pay, no offered benefits, having to work holidays.

    Advice to Management

Consider extending benefits to part-time employees.

I have been working at Grossinger Autoplex part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I enjoy working in a relaxed environment and Grossinger gives my just that. It also allows you to build relationships with your co-workers which is alwats appreciated.

    Cons

Depending on your position you may be stuck working somewhat crazy hours that can be annoying at times, but overall it's not bad.

    Advice to Management

Raise pay to match other dealerships, it's a good environment but people don't stick around because the pay is significantly less than a majority of dealerships

    Pros

Tons of potential, to make money. Gary the owner doesn't seem to be in the mindset to let anyone be successful.

    Cons

They don't pay you on time for the deals you have sold. Something will always happen that you are in draw.

    Advice to Management

Get someone who knows how to run a dealership and pay your sales people.
