I have been working at Grosvenor Casinos part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Very friendly and united team.
    Good customer service experience
Good opportunities for transfering between departments or branches
Good training structure and development program

    Cons

    Very poor work/life balance
    High turnover
Not many options for career advanvement after you reach a certain level
Poor pay structure in place (many cases of experienced staff members being on the same pay as new starters)

    Advice to Management

Show more interest in the employees. Currently, there is a high level of dissatisfaction amongst the company and a large number of experienced staff members leaving due to recent company decisions.

I have been working at Grosvenor Casinos full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Great team of staff
    - Lovely customers
    - Easy and relaxed job (generally..!)
    - Rewards for hard work (free drinks, shopping vouchers etc.)
    - Responsible Casino, looks after customers appropriately given the dangerous nature of gambling

    Cons

    - 24 hour Casino so late shifts are a given, but rota is usually fair
    - Sometimes internal communication within the casino is bad

    Advice to Management

Please sort out the communication between managers as it causes problems for staff and the general running of the casino.

I have been working at Grosvenor Casinos full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The elegance of dealing is brilliant.
    Fun and fast paced.
Half price or sometimes free food, taxi fares halved.
    Very supportive staff and management
    Big opportunity to working overseas.
Lots of breaks. (Sometimes however you can be on a table up to 3-4hours depending on the busy scale).

    Cons

    Premium down
Would be better to get paid a little higher for the role we have to do. Especially watching for money laundering and unsociable. (however it's understandable that them hours come with the job so I can see a point).
    Mentally draining.

    Advice to Management

A little pay rise would be nice and perfect considering the hours being done. (Over 40)

Would be nice to get a few celebs over in the casino brings amazing features.

I have been working at Grosvenor Casinos full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The people that work there are actually alright.

    Cons

Premium rate was taken away, no incentive to work night shifts which are hazardous to health. Hardly anyone wants to work them either.

Staff meals were taken away, and replaced with 50% off bar food, which is beyond annoying when you are on quick turnarounds and you don't have time to prepare food (which you often don't in this place). You are literally just giving your wage back to them at £4/£5 a pop.

There is no overtime unless you work over 48 hours a week, even then the company hates paying overtime and will try to give you any hours worked over 48 in lieu.

Tips are taxed and put through your wages. So you may take in £50 on a shift on the bar in one night but end up with only £200 in your wages for the month (and that's if you are full time).

Absolutely no future unless you really want to be a croupier or gaming manager. There is nowhere to advance and staff turnaround on the bar and kitchen is high. Only Cash desk, croupiers and kitchen staff get paid more than the minimum wage but it's not much more.

No sick pay apart from statutory government sick pay.

Customers can walk all over you, so be prepared for some of the most mentally draining shifts of your life. Managers will 70% of the time go against you and side with the customer even though you are just doing your job the way you are told to, making you look like an idiot.

You will also end up working many, many hours. A 10/12 hour shift is the norm here and you will be met with angry stares if you start complaining about your little 8 hour shift.

Basically if you're looking for a part-time job whilst studying or saving money to travel this is a great place. The staff are sound but that is the only good thing.

    Advice to Management

Perhaps care about your staff more. Head office only care about numbers and VIP customers. Pretty sure the working force don't exist in their eyes.

Staff are friendly and you get paid breaks. Always hours available because high turnover. Good if you like night work
