I have been working at Groupon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great pay and great benefits. Solid training program. Large upside provided you're willing to put in the work and go the extra mile. Fun culture that moves fast providing employees with a wide range of small-medium business acumen from a variety of sources.

    Cons

Company is working to discover its next step and identity after massive growth early on. As a result, some of the core values and goals are not always aligned with day-to-day objectives. Poor interdepartmental communication can be frustrating at times yet this is likely the case in some degree at most companies. No matching 401k.

    Advice to Management

Invest more in your people. Significant passion remains in your reps yet fades when many of them start to feel more like a number

    Pros

    The People.
The Fun Office Environment and weird stuff that happens all the time (tutu man and dramatic recreations of shitty movies at the end of company meetings).
    Ping Pong Table.

    Cons

A lot of folks here now so you can get lost in the masses.
Cross training in all areas of editorial=doing 4 diff. jobs and getting paid for one.

    Advice to Management

Listen and utilize your creative, young staff.
Pay people who do more than one job more than base salary.

    Pros

Unlimited vacation days- enough said. The company has enough faith in its employees to trust them to make their own decisions on how many vacation days they should be allowed.

Eccentric and fun environment- There's not telling what the next day in the office will bring. The growth of the company has been incredible since I have started. There are always amazing new ideas connected to a fun quirky sense of humor that are out there but brilliant. The atmosphere is very fun young and vibrant.

Great place to work and I would recommend this company to anyone.

    Cons

As previously stated, not a lot of structure

    Advice to Management

Please continue to maintain the laid back quirky culture that its employees love. Regardless of what the future may bring for this company in terms of the constant expansion I hope that doesn't change anytime soon

    Pros

It is very fast paced and the people around make the work day go quickly.
    The pay is definitely competitive
There is no specific dress code, able to wear what you are comfortable in
Get to feel like you are part of something bigger like a whole movement
Given enough responsibility to feel like you are an important part of the machine
The unlimited paid time off! (Don't abuse it, don't lose it)
My boss completely understands that we all have lives outside of work and respects that
    Benefits package is pretty awesome

    Cons

Because we are growing so rapidly, there can be confusion sometimes
Not always sure where the day will take you but that is also one of the best things..

    Advice to Management

Make sure you are always keeping your employees in 'the know'

    Pros

Best work atmosphere you'll find today, solid pay, great chance to work with a top company in it's respective industry

    Cons

Highly competitive which isn't necessarily a bad thing but can lead to high levels of stress and frustration thus effecting job performance

    Pros

Flexible, adaptable, and a great example of what the "new corporate" should and I think eventually will be. Gone are the egos of the Corporation, and present is everyone's commitment to being part of something bigger than themselves.

    Cons

Overwhelming pace, no 401K company match.

    Pros

    - sales folk can make a LOT of money with hard work
    - even if you start out on a tiny market, talented people move up quickly
    - the people are amazing...genuine, kind and funny
    - strong sense of camaraderie and pride in the product
    - crazy stuff happens in the office (elaborate company-wide pranks, etc.)
    - no set PTO policy means you can take as much vacation as you need/want as long as you keep your stuff together

    Cons

    - tremendous amount of pressure on salespeople
    - your attention is pulled in umpteen directions by various initiatives
    - long hours (not required, but hard to avoid as a function of how much you have to do and the nature of the product)

    Advice to Management

Keep it inclusive! Newer employees find it hard to break into the "inner circle." While nicknames and inside jokes are fun, care should be taken by managers to not favor their friends.

    Pros

Very Agile with fast iterations. Extremely attentive management, great atmosphere and fun coworkers. Developers are respected and given everything they need to succeed.

    Cons

Very fast paced, which can create lots of distractions at times. Current growth is outpacing hiring, although the company is working on fixing that

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. Everyone I know is 100% behind the company and the management. Don't ever let us get "corporate"

    Pros

    New
    Growing
Busy workplace with exciting things going on around the company. I have met a lot of skilled people and there is a lot of smart thinking that goes with sales and marketing.

    Cons

Sometimes, I feel a bit like my department is shut off from the rest of the company. Information is sometimes hard to get about the company's performance.

    Advice to Management

I think the management is great. For such a young company and young leadership, they really have a good head on their shoulders.
