I have been working at Groupon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great culture, strong support system, casual dress. They provide a fun work environment to help keep staff happy. Snacks always available.

    Cons

Days can get long, cold calling. High stress sales environment, regardless your standing you always have to worry about next week, month, quarter. Can be hard to hit the metrics you need to keep your job with decent pay.

    Advice to Management

Management is very supportive and helpful with other opportunities and progression.

I have been working at Groupon full-time

    Pros

Great company, great group of staff who are very dedicated. Everyone is willing to teach you or assist you if you have any troubles.

    Cons

The company likes to move people around from one team to another to prevent staff from becoming "content". This can be hard on teams and employees as it can sometimes cause significantly decreased work performance and can hurt a close nit team as new times are sometimes reluctant to accept new people into the group.

    Advice to Management

Would be preferable for close nit teams to stay together rather than splitting teams and team members up even if there is a need in other teams. Overall i think the concept works good, however there are times where it can be hard on the team or staff

I have been working at Groupon as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is a friendly atmosphere with a strong emphasis on pairing and writing the highest quality code that is possible.

    Cons

There is a lack of unity. Many teams work without communicating between teams. This can cause code to be re-written and some misinformation to be spread.

    Advice to Management

Help unify the different departments in engineering and let teams decide as a larger group what standards should be in place to maintain quality.

Great environment. Awesome managers that will help you and guide you to success. Lots of money to be made in the sales team.

    Cons

    None to my knowledge.

    Advice to Management

Work with reps with high activity and hard work ethic. Not just with high contract reps.

I worked at Groupon as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The best thing about Groupon is that you are surrounded by very intelligent professionals who are working in a very relaxed and casual environment.

    Cons

Corporate structure is not very organized and it makes it difficult when you have to co-ordinate with other teams for implementation of projects.

    Advice to Management

Groupon very schizophrenic when it comes to some projects.Management should invest in projects with long term potential and not just abandon them with first sign of trouble.
