I have been working at Grupo Bimbo full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    The money and the benefits.

    Cons

Everything else. This company has reduced its fleet and staff of drivers I must assume due to the reduced interest in bread and sweet goods consumption by the public. The bakery is no longer the ultra clean and bright environment it once was just a few years ago. Dirty, unkept and poor lighting make it very depressing. Newer employees walk into this filth not knowing what it once looked like. Hours and days of work are the most horrible in the in trucking. Many are irregular and scattered around the clock and the week. Supervision is worn out and don't agree on things.

    Advice to Management

You've exchanged the quality of the product from excellent to mediocre to survive and cut the cost of cleaning for the same reason. Instead of figuring on cutting costs for survival, perhaps you might rethink your business model and reinvent yourselves into something more than just a baking company. Johnson and Johnson, Proctor and Gamble, R J Reynolds would have collapsed if the had not done so to mention a few. Your company is growing only because others want out so you buy them on the cheap. The industry is dying out. The bottom is yet to be seen.

I have been working at Grupo Bimbo as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

None. Can't think of 1 thing honestly.

    Cons

They try to pay their IO's less than their agreed upon percentages. They do not honor their own contracts.

    Advice to Management

If you're paying IO's 18% gross. Don't try to pay them 7% gross and tell them its 18. It's quite simple math.

I have been working at Grupo Bimbo full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Fast paced, consumer brand driven company that reinvests in the business 80% of cash flow, has grown steadily for more than 68 years. Publicly traded in Mexico, yet run with many of the good things of a closely held, family business. Sincere concern about the well being (material, mental, professional and even personal) of their associates. Fosters an environment of respect, trust, fairness and where leaders care for the people as much as they care for the financial results. Don't be fooled, this is not a "country club" the work is hard, the pace is at times brutal, but the opportunities to lead and go places are really great. The company has operations in about 19 countries and has lots of room for growth in almost every market.

    Cons

In some countries, a 6 day workweek can be challenging. Compensation is competitive but not aggressively so.

    Advice to Management

Focus on diversity. Insure that leaders in the U.S. understand the culture and values of Grupo Bimbo and embrace and practice them.
