I have been working at Guardian Protection full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Above average pay. Good benefits. Opportunities for progression. Decent location. Good people working here, it's like coming to work with a good group of friends.

    Cons

Information overload. They have a great trainig department but there is so much information to learn it can not possibly ALL be taught during an 10 week training course. If you already know the industry you have a leg up but the hardest thing to master are the computer programs and ever changing processes and procedures. ALOT of on the job training. Processes and procedures are changing everyday. Poor communication between departments. No sense of any foward planning or inclusion in company goals. Operating most of the company on outdated computer programs and sales strategies. Poor attrition rate in many departments. Compensation across the board should be more based on the industry and market but Guardian can afford to be a little cheap with salary as they are on of the few companies consistently hiring in this area. Don't expect to gross more than $40,000 unless you are in upper management or a department head. All lower level positions will pay less than this. Typical starting salary is $12-$16 if you are lucky.

    Advice to Management

Raise salaries to national market averages and your turnover rate for employees would be less and your training costs would be reduced. Cut out back end processes work and let reps focus on their jobs more.

I worked at Guardian Protection full-time

    Pros

Great benefits and awesome team mates.

    Cons

Guardian management has taken a blind eye to gossip, intimidation and most recently a decline in pay structure (all from management). Management acts as if they are on "your side" but gossips about you to fellow employees behind your back. Upper management did nothing to remedy the situation and because of this, 5 employees resigned within 5 days. Guardian Charlotte has the potential of being a great branch, but until the toxic instigators are removed, it won't happen.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the bad apples who spend their time gossiping and stalking their employees instead of bringing the team together as a unit.

I have been working at Guardian Protection full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Benefits are decent, most people are good, challenging work place that builds character. Products that are installed are typically of good quality and high performance.

    Cons

Upper Management only cares about profits, metrics, reports and re-perpetuating their own employment. Used to be a place where loyalty toward long time employees was important, now not so much.

    Advice to Management

Stop hounding your people people over reports, reinvest in your employees with opportunity to share in the success of the company and the benefits will be greater commitment to customer satisfaction and profitability.

I have been working at Guardian Protection full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Challenging job, interesting product portfolio, great schedule, work from home

    Cons

Management. The pain point of the remote sales staff are simple to fix however the upper management have no interest in even entertaining fixing them. The management (in the southeast region) has shown ineptitude on multiple fronts, primarily dealing with people. The pay is listed as the best in the industry however there is truly a limited amount a remote sales associate can make. The company itself is incredibly antiquated (using carbon copy paper for contracts, no technology involved in the operations side) which is shocking for a technology company. In my region, I met a few of the upper management, and unfortunately I did not desire to be like any of them and that is a problem. Finally, they treat you like a sub contractor although you are a W-2. If you are unlucky enough to be a remote sales staff they require you to purchase all necessary equipment to do your job without reimbursement. You also expected to travel over 1k miles per week to sales meetings and take appointments, again with no reimbursement. Everything about this company screams cheap, from the way they do not reimburse anything to their pay plan, to their low tech outdated paperwork process. Overall it took less than a few weeks to realize this was not a company to commit to long term and over the year of employment they fortified that decision a million times over.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your biggest asset, your sales staff. There are simple little fixes that would cause top talent to stay however management seemingly cared only about protecting their bottom line. Unfortunately that strategy squelched their bottom line and after changing the compensation plan to be motivating and lucrative, they are seeing a revolving door with their employees.

    Pros

Autonomy, great commission, great support system, warm leads

    Cons

Upper management (as with all sales jobs) is driven by numbers. Expectations unreasonable in certain low income Texas cities in the South.

    Advice to Management
