    Pros

none at all.. seriously 40% discount maybe if you like to dress like a hooker

    Cons

Man where do I start? Told when to go to break, when to go to lunch, no company information shared, phone messages from the owners instead of a face to face company wide meeting,no structure, no processes, top heavy, inefficiency on every level, no organization, no planning, no growth, no security - here today possibly gone tomorrow without warning, funky culture, crappy systems, no respect, no reconigtion, bait & switch mentality and very very pretentious. Anyone reading this I am DEAD SERIOUS.. DO NOT WORK AT GUESS. I know they will make it seem very glamourous and sexy and fun during the interview process as if it is full of perks and growth DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE. They have excellent recruiting people that will pull the wool over your eyes. This company is NOT a forward thinking, professional, innovative, exciting place to work. They tend to hire over qualifed people for entry level jobs which will in a short time drive you up the wall because your skills and experience will not be in line with your position even though it was initially made out to be. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.. no joke. I would never in a million years recommend anyone to work for this company. NEVER.

    Pros

Recognizable brand. Great marketing campaigns, good discount.

    Cons

Ridiculous level of micro-management from corporate down to store level. You have to write a report about everything, including a report about writing a report. It's just stupid and time-wasting. DM's are out of touch with day to day needs of managers. Managers not given the support to develop store employees..therefore everyone feels like they are just a number. Insane amount of work hours for management, especially when they are shortchanged in payroll $'s and hours. It's just not worth it. The pay is not bad, but you will hate your life. Believe me.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees and recognize that keeping them motivated and happy will decrease turnover. Your Store Managers work extremely hard and are very dedicated. Let them have a life once in a while!

    Pros

You work closely with senior management, execs and VPs. You get a 40% discount on the clothes. You get to sit in a air conditioned office. You tend to bond with the people you suffer with. If you believe in very hard work while getting little in return, you will enjoy working at Guess.

    Cons

Terrible work-life balance. They love face-time, even though there may not be work to do. There is an overall depressing feeling because not only are the offices built from the framework of warehouses, but it's located in a terrible neighborhood next to a scrap yard. There are barbed wired fences surrounding the campus to keep bums out and workers in. Most workers don't see the light of day as there are no windows. I would describe working at Guess as an unhealthy relationship. You try and try to figure out what they want and you do whatever you can to please them. But it's never good enough unless you kiss ass. They give you as little as legally possible and throw you a bone once in a while so that you feel like you're getting treated well so that you get sucked right back in. Office politics and favoritism dictates who rises and who gets booted. The company is run like a dictatorship, with the owners leaving threatening voice mails to all employees about walking with a sense of urgency and not stopping to make small talk with fellow coworkers. They also try to dictate where you have to eat lunch. Conform, conform, conform. Or fail.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to manage. Learn how to develop and lead and help people grow. Teach by setting an example. Stand up to their bosses/leaders. Don't just care for themselves.

    Pros

Discounts if you actually shop there
Cafeteria is run by wolfgang puck
If you're an attractive woman, you'll move up fast (everyone who works at Corp knows what I'm talking about)
My direct VP was very good

    Cons

Everything. So many rules you feel like it's elementary school. If you work in building 1 on campus and you come late, just know there is a 1 way glass mirror with the CEO on the other end. He's actually sent people home for coming late. The security guard writes down your license plate and notes what time you came to work (only in lot 1). Cameras everywhere and you won't believe who's watching. Constant voicemails from the CEO about why we're not eating at his buddy Wolfgang Pucks cafe and that maybe he should close it down since we're so ungrateful. Btw, that cafe was built for millions of dollars after the start of the recession while we laid off 10% of the corporate staff. Threats on voicemail about speed walking between buildings and not small talking otherwise we might get fired. Scheduled break times as well as scheduled lunches. Have a meeting that runs through break? Guess you missed it...not sure if you have the guts to "make up" your break even if justified...good luck explaining that to the CEO.

Many many many more crazy things happened that I can't think of at the moment, but just know that you do NOT want to be here.

    Advice to Management

Trust your employees and treat them like professionals. If you don't think they are, why'd you hire them?

    Pros

The people are (sometimes) the best part of this company. When they are good, they are good and when they're bad, they're bad! Mostly people who arent all that smart can be found around the guess headquarters, but myyyyy are they good looking!! Workign under the Guess brand is probably the best part about working there, but thats about where it ends.

    Cons

Where to begin. You will be promised the world when recruited, then you show up and none of those promises are fulfilled. You'll shrug it off but it keeps happening time and time again! Dissappointment is a great word to use here. And you wont be alone, pretty much everyone at Guess hates it, they just have nowhere to go! Get ready to feel like you're in daycare again because if you are 1 minute late from any break or shift, you can prepare for a speech about how guess really loves someone who is on time. Oh yeah, and it will all be caught on tape because there are approximately 1,000 cameras on the campus, which are monitored just in case. The CEO, is the mastermind behind this place falling apart, his ridiculous requests and ideas feul the rest of the company to follow in his footsteps. It is a chaotic dump - hidden behind lots of T&A that people get distracted by.

    Advice to Management

    Retire. Seriously.
