    Pros

If you're looking to work in retail or even the fashion industry Guess is a great stepping stone. Company has great core values and there is a ton of room for growth and promotion within.

    Cons

At times the stress and pressure can be a bit much, especially if you're trying to balance school or another job at the same time.

    Advice to Management

They do company contests throughout the year. So maybe by offering more individual and team contests overall will further promote sales and give associates more incentive.

    Pros

Get to meet lots of interesting people.

    Cons

They pay is terrible. There's no incentive to sell when you're only being payed minimum wage.

    Advice to Management

    Pay your sales associates more.

I have been working at Guess? part-time

    Pros

Guess really taught me great customer service and how to properly communicate with a customer to make great sales.

    Cons

Should have commission added to salary because of the top service we provide. Not fan of long retail hours for minimum wage pay.

    Advice to Management

Reaching sales goal feels enforced even if we do not have the proper traffic to make sales.

I worked at Guess? full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you can manage to surround yourself with good employees it can be a lot of fun. There were occasionally good bonus incentives.

    Cons

High turnover makes for disorganized operations. Low pay. Benefits were not good. Quality of clothes were inconsistent for such a high priced brand.

    Advice to Management

Work heavily on honing in on a very repeatable and specific system to prepare management to deal with challenges. Too often there was accountability without training.

I worked at Guess? full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The product and clothing was really great. The environment is fun. Inventory bonus was a very high bonus. Great potential to move up.

    Cons

when the new ceo, victor, took over, the "People first" mentality left and people of long tenure started leaving. Little to no stores made bonuses after the new ceo took over.

    Advice to Management

Remember that people come first. Paul Marciano, founder of guess, believed in his people. That has been lost.

    Pros

    They work with school schedule

    Cons

Impossible to move up& no raises

    Advice to Management

Never tell your associates the door is wide open it will give them a overlook of not only you but the company

    I worked at Guess? part-time

    Pros

Cute clothes and a good discount. Friendly associates. Super small store so clean up is easy. The customers are fun to work with. They love getting your help!

    Cons

Management sucks. Doesn't pull their weight....makes you do all the work. Store manager takes everything personal...especially a notice from an employee. Don't expect to be treated fairly if you've decided you no longer want to work there. Not understanding at all. Oh and constant fighting over sales....management fights over them too.

    Advice to Management

You can't really give advice on the character of a person. Just change management!

    I worked at Guess? part-time

    Pros

Great people and the discount is good.

    Cons

Managers are the only people of get full time shifts. Sales associates have sell a lot to get more hours. Even when your in the top 3 you still don't get hours. Target goal is high to make ends meet. Incentive cards are basically only for management, so they get free clothes while sales associates have to work to get hours and use our entire paycheck to buy clothes.

    Advice to Management

Higher pay for sales associates we work just as hard or even more than management. Sales associate should be treated with more respect since we are the ones helping make sales. We need commission along with the hourly pay atleast!
