work in branch to avoid distractions happened in headquarter.

    Cons

communication with headquarter is not smooth.
was not offered the opportunity to work on main product lines.
was assigned to maintain old production lines and eventually the team was let go.

    Advice to Management

Need to think of a good business plan and executing them correctly.
Need to encourage staff and use them in the fields of their strengths.

    Pros

The opportunity to make a difference because you are working for a small to medium size company and each position is exposed to more functions. There's a feeling of family with the company due to size, traditions, and environment. There are some nice programs and activities that are promoted by the company to foster a positive environment to work in. The company seems to do a good job of valuing the work-life balance overall.

    Cons

As with many companies, sometimes communication doesn't flow in all directions. Due to its size, it's hard to offer a vast array of career growth opportunities. They do exist, but not like with a company of 10,000.

    Advice to Management

Be a role model for front line employees. Treat them as you would want to be treated.

    I worked at Guest-Tek Interactive Inc. full-time

    Pros

They have good health insurance benefits

    Cons

No direction from upper management. Immature, childish, unprofessional account managers. Unreasonable sales quota expectations. Questionnable commission practices. Poor reputation within the industry makes sales difficult.

    Advice to Management

Clean house with upper management. Hire people with appropriate skills to direct employees and manage a company of this size. Leaders should know how to LEAD. Must have vision and be able to think outside of the box.

I worked at Guest-Tek Interactive Inc. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Extraordinarily slow pace of work offers ample opportunities to sharpen your other job-market-skills for when you are inevitably laid off, or for when you get sick of working in a mindless Java shop stuck ~15 years in the technological past. Pay is alright. Benefits are pretty good.

    Cons

Good luck building anything. Development speed is glacially slow, technological choices are a joke (mysql over postgres? hand-rolled Java everything instead of using existing libraries? come on), the only reason they stay in business is existing contracts. Their own clients prefer the older versions of their applications, they are unable to build anything even remotely interesting, they will be put out of business by the next startup that makes ANYTHING in their competitive business domain. I would be very surprised if this company was still in business in 10 years.

    Advice to Management

Sell your stock while it still has any value, and leave this gig off of your resume when you apply for your next job!

    Pros

    Some people are awesome there

    Cons

It is well known that upper management has made inappropriate advances towards employees. When employees made a complaint to HR, no follow up was done except to lay off the females making complaints.
Sexist and racist comments are made daily. HR provides zero support and employees are left discouraged. On top of this, staff in underpaid and under valued.

They are constantly getting sued for patent and employee issues. They lie to their clients and to their banks. Layoffs happen regularly to save money while upper management spend $$$ on presidential suites and villas for travel.

    Advice to Management

Go to rehab, keep your hands to yourself and stop lying to your clients and employees.
