    Pros

    - Opportunity to grow with the business - Exposure to new technologies

    Cons

    - Unable to retain good employees, especially in the management team. - Manager does not care about employee career growth. (seldom schedule 1-on-1 meetings, only discuss project-related things in 1-on-1). - It is difficult to transfer internally among teams.

    The Tech Job Dream

Jul 14, 2022 - Information Security Analyst in Bellevue, WA
    Recommend

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Guidewire was my first job out of college, and I quickly realized why they have won awards as a top employer. They offer some of the best benefits for employees, including: - a remote work equipment stipend - generous yearly budget for wellness (gym membership, sports equipment, health classes, etc.) - reimbursement of mobile phone, internet for remote employees - the coveted unlimited PTO policy

    Cons

Their product, software/SaaS for certain insurance companies, isn't anything especially cool or interesting to tell your friends about. Remote work is quite unengaging. Fairly few things going on that aren't in-person at their headquarter locations. This year, they also did not offer a travel budget for conferences.

    A company that truly cares

    Jun 29, 2022 - Brand and Marketing

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Sure, every company has issues, nothing is perfect. But Guidewire is about as close as you can get to perfect! The benefits are phenomenal and continually improving, and every employee is kind and intelligent. I'm sure experiences may vary depending on your role or department, but I always feel well-equipped and supported for success.

    Cons

It is a relatively large and structured company. I personally do not find this to be a con as the structure is great for staying organized as well as learning and development. There might be approval processes for certain things, but that is the case at most companies of the same size.
