    Pros

Great Benefits, Some Custom Work, Comfortable Environment, Great Pay

As with other companies, company has extreme ups and downs coinciding with market situation

    Advice to Management

Plan better for market situations to avoid massive layoffs

    Pros

Competitive Pay and annual merit increases.

    Cons

Just a number, company doesn't value the employee anymore. HR department is questionable at best. Policies are purposely vaguely written as to shape as it best fits the company if various circumstances.

    Advice to Management

Be proactive in communicating to the employees, keep promises and do not lie.

I have been working at Gulfstream full-time

    Pros

Seemed like an acceptable place for a couple months. Good salary and health benefits are very good.

    Cons

The absolute worst company I have ever worked for, hands down. ALL Senior Management in Appleton should be replaced.

    Advice to Management

General Dynamics should look into what is going on at Gulfstream to make some major corrections in management, and policies.

I worked at Gulfstream full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Coworkers were a good group of people. Those who actually touched an aircraft had high integrity. Decent pay, good benefits.

    Cons

Managers had unreasonable demands when deadlines were near. Thinly veiled demands to get it out on time regardless of safety or legality.

    Advice to Management

Stop requiring inspectors to oversee every single step of a technicians' operational checks. Stop adding layers of paperwork to track paperwork that is already tracked. It's not helping avoid errors. Look back to the days when things worked and do things that way again.

I have been working at Gulfstream full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The work/life balance is good. The pay and benefits are good.

    Cons

In Engineering at the Appleton site you get stuck pretty quickly as to how far you can advance on the technical side

    Advice to Management

At the sites outside of Savannah there needs to be a way to advance as an engineer, I have seen too many of my friends leave because they had no way to advance their career unless they went to Savannah

Current Employee - Engineer II in Appleton, WI
    Approves of CEO

    Pros

The salary compared to local area is good, they provide good benefits, a safe, clean work area, and are a stable employer relative to aerospace industry as a whole.

    Cons

Limited opportunity for advancement at satellite locations (outside Savannah). If you don't work at the parent site, you are a second class citizen within the company, with pay and opportunity accordingly. They do promote from within, but not as a rule.

    Advice to Management

Allow employees some room to apply their skills. Drop the lean where you know it doesn't make sense.
