I have been working at Gulfstream full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    401K
    Climate controlled hangars
    Company toolboxes
    Safe work environment
Vision, dental, and life Ins policies are still good. The medial has been replaced by a horrible high deductible HSA (ObamaCare) plan.

    Cons

    Marginal pay
Medical plan is horrible-Most employees DO NOT LIKE IT, don't believe anything else you hear.
Over burdened with micro-management and several layers of middle managers
When the company needs to make cutbacks to make stockholders happy, they take from the hourly employees but leadership still make huge yearly bonuses.

    Pros

overtime is allways available. clean environment, there are some good people here

    Cons

poor tooling , contractors are treated differently to permanent staff, I would say overall this is a good place to work however it is very dependant on which section you are put in as some are better than others. Hard to get out of poor areas as these areas need people and have a high turnover of staff. I would strongly advise researching which area you are going to work in before joining the company

    Advice to Management

    tools and time management

    Pros

Competitive Pay and annual merit increases.

    Cons

Just a number, company doesn't value the employee anymore. HR department is questionable at best. Policies are purposely vaguely written as to shape as it best fits the company if various circumstances.

    Advice to Management

Be proactive in communicating to the employees, keep promises and do not lie.

I worked at Gulfstream as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Abundant amount of work
-Everyone is willing to each other whenever it is needed
-No problem working over 40 hours a week

    Cons

-Way too much work to be done with the time available and number of employees
-Management does not care if people have to work 70+ hours a week (including weekends)

    Advice to Management

Need to hire more people. There is just way too much work and not enough people to complete what is needed.

I worked at Gulfstream as an intern

    Pros

Good benefits. Potentially great colleagues. A solid company culture of safety and continuous improvement. There are certain managers that are highly open to comments and process improvements. Four day work weeks.

    Cons

People often played the blame game instead of finding solutions. There are some structural problems that go fairly far up the chain. The software development process is very much waterfall, which encounters all the associated problems.

    Advice to Management

Internal QA on software development projects could be extremely beneficial and time-saving. Automation could also transform the business into a much more efficient and productive environment.

Very skilled workforce. Some very good coworkers and managers with several bad apples mixed in. You will gain a ton of experience in whatever your field of work.

    Cons

Hiring, Layoffs, Hiring, Layoffs. Which way are they going this month? This year?

    Advice to Management

    Develop a solid workforce plan.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Gulfstream full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Loved the employees that I worked with. It made going to work such a pleasure.

    Cons

This is a place for those who are apart of the "good ole boy" club. Raises aren't based on individual performance. It is based on the overall department you are assigned to, which make it very unfair for those that performed over and above. Not very stable at current. It was a good company in the beginning, but has slowly but surely dwindled because of incompetence of senior leadership.

    Advice to Management

If you take care of your people, then they in turn will take care of you. Micromanagement is not the answer.
