    Negative Outlook

I worked at Gymboree Play and Music full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Flexibility to be with my own kids, I love the classes and relationships formed with the customers

    Cons

There is little to no corporate support for Franchisees. They don't hold everyone to the same standards across the board, they don't provide marketing support as promised in the franchise agreement. It is a very frustrating business to work in.

    Advice to Management

Help the franchisees out! Hold everyone to the same standards. Create a way to pay royalties monthly instead of quarterly, and for the love of all things holy, create a website platform and booking platform that actually works for our business model!

Caring, loving, smart people. When they sold the business, it was a sad day in all our lives.

Not enough of them to go around

    Advice to Management

I wish you were still involved

I worked at Gymboree Play and Music part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Kids, singing, colorful, active, meaningful relationships with moms and their kids, watching them grow together! Great training and positive constructive feedback.

    Cons

If you're not much for performing this might be challenging for you. The gym teacher brings the joy to the classroom!

    Advice to Management

The management I worked under did a great job! I know that the Houston Branch of the company is under new management now so I'm not aware how things are presently.

I worked at Gymboree Play and Music part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you want a job where the hours are very flexible, being a teacher's assistant for birthday parties is great.

The people are nice and when you get tipped you make twice what you would otherwise.

Easy job, helps you learn customer service

    Cons

Sometimes you don't get tipped at the party but that's not the companies fault, just the people who are having the parties.

Also can be difficult to usher party guests out when their party is over and the next one is about to start

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!

I worked at Gymboree Play and Music part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours. All of the staff are so nice and help you during your training to make it less overwhelming. Lots of experience with all ages including the youngest of children and oldest of adults. Definitely a great first time job.

    Cons

I used to work one hour less than the required time to get a lunch so they didn’t tell me I could go for lunch so that sucked but it wasn’t that bad
