I have been working at H.O. Penn Machinery full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

H.O. Penn is a company that truly cares about the well-being of their employees. Because they operate as a Values-based organization, this allows Senior Management, as well as the President and CEO, to make decisions to support the business as well as the people. I joined the company as the industry was still recovering from the economy crash in 2008 and was amazed at the commitment of the organization to ensure the continued success of everyone in the company. In the more recent years, the company has strategically aligned itself to sustain long-term success and continue its reputation as an awesome place to work and a great place to do business with. I highly encourage potential job candidates to apply and get to know more about our company!

    Cons

    Nothing at this time.

I have been working at H.O. Penn Machinery full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company values are ideal and they have a great mission-driven culture. Execs and managers are enthusiastic and passionate about the company and this energy trickles down to the rest of the employees. H.O. Penn wants their employees to be happy and committed for the long haul. My coworkers are warm, friendly, and inclusive, and they all love what they do.

    Cons

I didn't start working here sooner.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

    Pros

Great Company. Ownership and executive management work very hard at being successful in many ways particularly by developing and rewarding employees.
Many long term employees 15, 20, 30 and 40 years!
Development and career advancement is the norm.

    Cons

    No cons to speak of.

I have been working at H.O. Penn Machinery full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

H.O.Penn rewards can do attitudes. It facilitates personal growth and career development through its annual and half year review process; its development plan creation and coaching processes, and its publicizing of job opportunities every time a position arises.

    Cons

.....not a get rich quick organization, but an organization where experience counts and where the opportunity to acquire that experience is provided every day.

    Pros

This company has a "family" feel to it. Management and the people you work with, truly care about each other. They offer advancement, training, and provide you with the tools you need to be successful.

    Cons

None that I can think of.

    Advice to Management

Continue to care about your employees development and engagement.

I worked at H.O. Penn Machinery (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits and base, however commission structure poor.

    Cons

Management does not care for their employees. Given online training at start of employment, then no other formal training on the position or the CAT equipment. Left out to fend for yourself. Management more concerned with TWICE yearly reviews and actual sales of CAT equipment or parts. No team community, you are an island. When you ask for help, you are shunned for not knowing the answer and no one is willing to help. Managers are number counters/crunchers only. New management came into play and never called once, never.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to employees, train where needed. I asked for training on several occasions and was never given any.

    Pros

    Good work environment, good benefits.

    Cons

Management is almost non existent. Employees are given online training and expected to produce good quality of work where that is the only form of training

    Advice to Management

Get rid of managers who fail to do the job they were assigned.

I worked at H.O. Penn Machinery (More than 8 years)

    Pros

HR is easily accessible to employees Employees are kept informed as to how the company is progressing

    Cons

Employee moral tends to be put on a back burner. Management tends to be oblivious to the regular employees' feelings. HR tends to take a manager's word over an employee's

    Advice to Management

The GAP Plan has to go. It is very demeaning. A manager should not allowed to set up an employee for failure in order to get rid of that employee
