I have been working at H&M part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Great training
-pay rate is good for retail position
    -Flexible hours
    -employee discounts
-opportunity to grow within the company
    -I love my store manager

    Cons

I don't have many cons. I would say that there should be more full time positions available. At my store there are only 4 full time positions and 15+ part-time. So we don't get guaranteed hours as the full timers.

    Advice to Management

Supervisors/DM's Don't abuse your "power" by belittling others

Some of the technology could be updated to work more consistently.

I have been working at H&M full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

One of the greatest places to work under a beautiful flat level organization company. You are given feedback everyday and knowledge about your work ethic, which drives you to work harder to achieve your goals. Everything you hear about H&M's values are true, from we are one team to entrepreneurial spirit. I've had the pleasure of opening up the newest flagship store in Manhattan called 700 and it taught me about the business aspect as well as leadership skills, i needed to open up such a marvelous store. I quickly rose the ranks from PT to FT to Sales coach and there are endless amounts of opportunity in your home store as well as other stores or corporate. They give you everything you need to succeed, you just need to utilize your resources and drive the business. All in all this is somewhere i see myself working in 10 years from now still.

    Cons

Well, nothing too big just coverage on the floor and roles.

    Advice to Management

Great job, everyone is a key leader and wants us to grow, so keep doing what you're doing.

I have been working at H&M full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Values based and treat their people really well. Great benefits they have it all covered in their commitment to a Great Place to Work value. They are run very efficiently and I love the consistency in the routines.

    Cons

It's the most complex environment to work in. Which is ironic because one of the values is, "Keep it Simple". The stores are run with minimum hours to protect profitability so the expectations at times are unattainable. It is very difficult to get promoted because your reviews are based on total store achievement.

    Advice to Management

There are routines and duties that could be eliminated to save payroll.(ie. Counting the drawers at night, the 222 manager in the morning counting them and then the floater counting them a 3rd time). Review every duty to see what can be eliminated to be able to free up payroll for the sales floor where the hours are needed the most so that customer service can actually happen. As it stands, everyone is functioned out at either cash point, fitting room, or truck and there is no one left to service the customers which is the reason we're in business.

    I worked at H&M full-time

    Pros

Very energetic workplace. There is always something to do. Great employee discounts, snd benefits.

    Cons

Lacks empathy for employee concerns and issues within the stores. Lacks encouragement for employees to move up in position.

    Advice to Management

If you take into consideration the issues that arise in the stores that employees have with management, and actually hear what the issues are and help to resolve them. The stores can run more proficiently, especially when employees know that they can rely on upper management for any concerns, issues, and even advice given by employees. Communication is key to everything. Connect, engage, and inspire not only with customers, but also with the staff of the store.
