I have been working at H&R Block part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours. Laid back management, but in a good way. They aren't breathing down your neck. My coworkers are great and because of the small office we all have a great time and get along!

    Cons

It's only seasonal for tax season but I wish it was a year long position. I love it here but I understand why it can't be year long.

I have been working at H&R Block part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to further your knowledge of tax laws with education programs at a reduced rate versus college courses made me come on board. So far, everyone extremely helpful and supportive my first year as a CSP.

    Cons

Being the newest person on the team, the hours are the "left overs" if you will. But that's with any part-time job.

    Advice to Management

Make offices less sterile, more inviting and welcoming to customers.

I have been working at H&R Block part-time

    Pros

Excellent training. Clearly defined goals. Focus on good service. State of the art technology, both client facing and in house.

    Cons

Messy seasonal start up hiring process. District support staff is spread too thin.

    Advice to Management

Begin tax preparation courses about two months earlier to allow time for new hires to complete other required training and get more practice prior to the season beginning. Streamline the hiring process. Pay a higher hourly rate for first year tax pros and for support staff.
