I have been working at H&R Block full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Taxes are challenging. If your a self starter, you can bake advantage of continuing education that is offered.

    Cons

Incompetent employees and district managers. The company is focused on a retail mindset and therefore hires "bodies" and continues to decline in performance year over year.

    Advice to Management

Stop settling for "retail" experience and instead hire District Managers that know how to engage employees and grow the business.

    Pros

Lots of paid training. District manager is very supportive. Lots of work hours during peak

    Cons

Lots of marketing and outside sales. I'm not a marketing person, hate cold calling and cold visiting. Annual marketing changes

    Advice to Management

Beta test software more, nothing more frustrating than having mad clients because the software is buggy. Also make sure changes are really necessary and will help your tax pros.
