    Pros

The company provides decent benefits and a salary that is mildly competitive. There are good honest people to work. Decent place to keep your head down and stay quiet and loyal.

    Cons

. . .where to start. First, the company AND its owners have been charged with felonies -- fraud and bribery. Be very careful. If the company survives it will look nothing like it does now.
There is zero room for advancement. Top spots are set aside for former employees of city and state agencies. They are paid fantastic amounts of money for their connections, but have little practical knowledge. They also have no interest in helping out the junior staff.
The culture is not friendly to women. There are no women in senior positions. Their paternalistic, man-splaining style keeps junior women on the sidelines.
The culture is very secretive and insular. If you aren't part of the family and the inner circle, you are the 'other.' The inner circle will work against you and use back channels to undermine you.

    Advice to Management

Be honest with your employees. Break out of your bubble and listen to staff other than family and inner cabal.

I worked at HAKS Engineers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Many staff level employees want to be successful. company is starting a webinar-based training program on various topics. Good IT support.

    Cons

Upper managers micromanage staff and try to undermine each other and staff to make themselves look good. Lack of support from management for staff. Some managers actually yell at and harass employees. Senior management allow non-performing upper managers to remain in the company at the expense of hard working staff.

    Advice to Management

Listen to and support staff. Remove non-performing upper managers and those that harass staff and have poor people skills.

I have been working at HAKS Engineers full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Multicultural staff, growing company, company gatherings, Friday breakfast and descent benefits. A few descent staff members.

    Cons

Others behave like they are still in high school and management does nothing about it. Forget about going to HR about it too. Underpaid staff, no flexibility, and no room for growth. Management worry more about their own progress and not their staffs or how to preserve the morale of the company. Unrealistic expectations and then speak to you in a condescending way for not meeting them. Instead of looking for ways on how to mentor, train and develop their employees.

    Advice to Management

Care about your employees, practice flexibility and communicate effectively. Maybe then your turnaround rates will decrease. Your site once said; "when an employee succeeds, we succeed". If you see someone with talent and is an asset, instead of displaying lack of appreciation, underpaying or overworking them, a little acknowledgment can go a long way. When a company succeeds it takes employees of all levels...it doesn't take someone with a masters degree or senior level to see what is going on.

    Pros

Great people, and that's about it. If it weren't for the people this position would be unbearable. That's all I got.

    Cons

Poor top management. There is no incentive to do your job well because you will receive no raises, promotions or a simple "great job" from any of your superiors.

    Advice to Management

    Get it together.
