I have been working at HARMAN full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay for easy work. Nice buildings and an eclectic group of people.

    Cons

Onboarding almost non-existent. People are not managed well and efforts are not allocated to the right projects, but that's improving. No system in place for employees to appreciate the products they work to create. Software engineers lack modern design processes. Bad communication between devs and test exists which leads to a plethora of discrepancies. Policies are archaic and outdated and inhibit productivity. There is a failure to retain talent, which is something management really needs to improve on.

    Advice to Management

Find the talents of your team members and put them in the right places.

    Pros

Good people to work with. Salary is average or better compared to other places in the area. The work is not difficult, but you are expected to do more than one job.

    Cons

Heavy workload. Management has a "my way or the highway" attitude.

    Pros

Easy going work culture, come in whenever work 8hrs complete tasks.

    Cons

Higher management is in their own world making commitment to customers without knowing actuals. Salaries are average or below.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at HARMAN full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Several projects to keep busy with, never any need to look for something to do. The experience here will help you get that next position that you really want.

    Cons

Work to life balance is nonexistent. If you can stay long enough to get the real experience of working at Harman your next position will seem better than it is.

    Advice to Management

Hire people with the right skill set to make a difference within the company. Multiple projects piled on the few that seem to know what is going on. When people underperform let them go you are only punishing the ones that want to be here.

I worked at HARMAN (Less than a year)

    Pros

The job in Harman is easy, testing the infotainment system. A lot of Intern work together, good atmosphere, the manager will have meeting every Friday. Just report your work. They are very nice.

    Cons

The job is not very challenging, once you are familiar with all the test cases, you work is tedious. It is not easy for intern to become full time. Some intern has been working around for 3 years, and still an intern.

    Advice to Management

The manager should give more advices to new intern. Sometimes at lunch time, there will be a seminar for intern to learn more about the technology. That's good.
