    Pros

None at all based upon my experience.

    Cons

Poor pay and poor benefits. I resigned my position and gave 2 weeks notice. HCL requested this in my offer letter. HCL refused to pay me for the 2 weeks. HR never contacted me. I was unable to find out if my health benefits were still in place. I emailed at least 6 HR staff members and was never answered. I have been working in IT for 25 years and have never experienced a company treating an employee this poorly. I have a family and HCL could care less. I believe legally HCL must provide this information as well as providing options to continue health care coverage. Nothing was offered. Do not work for this company if you value integrity and fair treatment.

    Advice to Management

Too many things to list. Start with running your company like a real business. If you ask for 2 weeks notice then honor your request. Have an exit interview if an employee leaves.

    Pros

Overall, I find the people nice to work with. Environment is nice.

    Cons

Political minded management that fears to assert on behalf of employees. Offered Pay is low and raises are low.

    Advice to Management

Recognize that employees devote and spend 33% of their lives for you and that you need to offer them pay to support the remaining 66% of their lives; ie family and personal obligations.

I worked at HCL Technologies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Pay was very good
    Health benefits were top notch

    Cons

Everything at this company is based in India. If you are working in the US, prepare for having absolutely no support from inside the US. Specifically:

    1) All the management is in India. From the time I joined the company, I never met a person face to face (even during the interviews)

    2) The intranet, emails, etc are all based off of India. If you call tech support for an issue, be prepared to be woken up at 2am because you will get a call from India. Your HR & manager will be in..you guessed it...India. Even the contest they ask you to join are paid in Rupees.

    Advice to Management

If you want to expand in the US, make sure you create a standalone US branch with local executives, management, intranet, etc.

    Pros

Global company with clients in every industry and geography. Opportunity is everywhere.
Great company to start a career with, you will learn a lot.

Business culture is very hectic and ad-hoc. This company does not do a good job of grooming leaders, but if you can fend for yourself, you can certainly rise.

    Advice to Management

Stop thinking up so many new initiatives, and implement a few that actually make a difference. Do a better job of retaining key talent.
