    Pros

There are NO Pros working for this company.

    Cons

This company likes to go and buy employees from other tech companies. This is how I ended up here. Its a very bad company to work for. They do not care for you at all... they just like to buy employees from the UK and then after some years they like to move your jobs back to India Do not trust this company at all. You will have no career prospects working at this company, there never give any pay rises at all. They care absolutely nothing for the employees that they buy, it all about profit for this Indian company. Do not work for them or trust them at all.

    Advice to Management

Stop buying employees and let the ones you have bought go back to their former employers.

I have been working at HCL Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lovely end client easy to form strong professional relationships with portfolio managers and directors, especially if you're visible to them.

Excellent client site location and offices. Modernised as secure colour printing.
Client uses current versions of MS packages. Good onsite IT Helpdesk also serviced by HCL

Client site facilities: subsidised coffee bar, clean and fully equipped kitchen areas, easy to book meeting rooms, friendly receptionists, security staff. The loos get cleaned every 2 hours.

Fantastic hard working technical team of HCL Wintel, Citrix, security engineers and technical architects.

    Relaxed schedule.

    Cons

Misogynistic project managers. HR accept the evidence, however are too slow to take any action.

Other project manager gets away with verbally abusive behaviour even in front of the client.

    Unprofessional, back stabbing environment.

Nepotism- an unskilled tech resource has been promoted to project manager as he's related to the on site lead boss's boss.

A culture of email despite being co-located on the same floor of the client.

Programme and project managers lack skill, leadership and stakeholder management.

Offshore PMO resources work when they feel like it. Their manager doesn't do anything if one of the resources are missing for 5 days.

Client portfolio managers reporting requirements aren't met due to HCL project managers unable to prioritise tasks. It's a shame as they are a great client.

Treated like scum if you're not speaking Hindi, despite being on client site, based in central London

Despite having better stakeholder management skills and more knowledge of the client portfolio activities, the DMU (account leader) ignores me as I'm female and undermines my professional capability.

    Advice to Management

    Hire a decent leadership team

Respect female leaders or don't hire them in the first place

Hire smart resources with maturity and stakeholder management if you expect them to be PMO analysts

I have been working at HCL Technologies (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of work if your given the work to do
Lots of experience if your valued enough

    Cons

Expectation is that you work literally until your so tired you have to take a day off
    No communication from management
Did not have any equipment to start
management have no idea what they are doing half the time
had a new manager every few weeks
    Unrealistic deadlines
Not even trying to be innovative
    Managers shout at you
Management don't communicate therefore 2 people end up doing the same piece of work
Was treated like I don't exist most of the time
    Was absolute HELL

    Advice to Management

I do not even know if my advice to management would even be taken seriously. Have a HR department handle new employees, make sure your employees have the correct equipment on their first day. Give the people your hire a chance to prove themselves to you. They fire too many people, each person fired took important project knowledge with them, the people fired could have been utilised or put onto another piece of work. Extremely bad at planning, go on a training course? Just get better at planning your projects. Split up the work accordingly, the project was too large to begin with.

    Pros

Pay is good for permies hired directly in the UK

    Cons

No culture. No benefits. No team spirit. No development. No motivation. Subpar resources sent from the offshore and no control over them once they are onsite.
No career if you don't know the offshore bosses in India who make all decisions or sit in Egham.
You're just a resource to be used to death and then thrown away.

I worked at HCL Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Good Money.
    - Compared to other Indian companies HCL provides usually more flexibility for customer demands.
    - Strong financial situation.

    Cons

Similar to other Indian companies HCL is a winner of the Outsourcing Hype. The business is a volume business, the company culture is extremely policy driven (which is necessary in a volume business). Service Quality, customer satisfaction, smart solutions and long term focus is not really important as long as the outsourcing demand is high. Very strong marketing that does not reflect the reality in delivery quality and employee culture.

    Advice to Management

Less wishful thinking, more reality checks.

    Pros

Worked with some brilliant people, staff cheered each other up lots.

    Cons

Management has no idea what they're doing, they did their very best to demotivate and discourage staff. Staff who had many years experience were ignored.

    Advice to Management

At least attempt to dress professionally
