    Negative Outlook

I worked at HCR ManorCare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Building relationships with the residents, what little time you see them.

    Cons

Training is horrible!! You get webinar training, and live webinar training. Personal training for about 3 days then dumped and expected to learn things on your own. Yet held accountable when you didn't do something you were never ever told was one of your job duties. Expected to do the work load of about 2-3 positions. The pay is NOT worth it. Very very stressful, leave feeling defeated every day.

    Advice to Management

Better training, higher pay. Delegate duties equally.

I worked at HCR ManorCare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent training and very flexible with a comfortable working environment. Bonus offered quarterly if you meet your goals; very reasonable goals.

    Cons

There are not a lot of cons for this company. Growth within the company is reasonable to a certain extent and then its hard to move beyond a certain point.

I worked at HCR ManorCare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice co-caregivers and they really work as a team

    Cons

    1. Always short-staffed. Sometimes the next shift would have to do what the previous shift was supposed to do because no one was at the unit.
    2. Sometimes it can get out of hand and caregivers are treated without respect.

    Advice to Management

Increase hourly pay, so employees would actually want to work.
Stand up for your employees. We work for the patients, not the families.

    Pros

    Helping others through hard times

    Cons

Nurses and administrative staff talk down to CNA's and expect more than is fair! CNA's are disposable and replaceable.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees complaints and try to fix them or you will loose good employees.

I have been working at HCR ManorCare full-time

    Pros

Health benefits- but costly, 401k - only 2% match, Online training tutorials, This company is like all the rest large companies in that they hire in at the lowest they can and only give a cost of living increase. Many people job jump to get better starting pay. Negotiate your highest salary before coming in. Company culture seems good. The people that stay are good workers.

    Cons

Computer technology could be a lot better. Many processes and workload could be done faster with better hardware and software.

    Advice to Management

None. Like I said, company just like all the others. It comes from the top down as to how employees are compensated and viewed. We are an expense to the company, not really an asset.
